I'm afraid we were disappointed with this site. The hedges have not been cut for a few years by the look of them and the grass is over long. No views any longer. We received a rather brusque welcome.
It's not very easy to find; once you are at Carregsawdde keep going straight, over a small bridge and it's on the right with a B&B sign on the wall. The entrance is rather tight.
There is a nice walk along the river; the best thing is a drive to the top of the Black Mountain, from here you can see down to the Gower.
Llangadog is an old fashioned place, shops shut on Sunday, but there is a farmers' market, and a garage with food and wine on the A40, going left.

Management response: Thank you for staying and thank you for your review. We are sorry to read that you were disappointed with our site.
If you received a brusque welcome, we apologise.
The hedges are cut once a year, late summer early autumn.
As with most places in the UK it has rained more than we have had sunshine, so restricting the times we can get the grass cut.
Llangadog is a traditional Welsh village where shops do close on a Sunday and a half day in the week but it has all you could need for shopping and eating out. |

Nice small site, really well cared for site with a very relaxed feel to the place, just turned up, set up then the owners appeared later and had a chat and took the cash, wc and shower shed was functional, shower was lovely!
For the money I reckon you'd be pushed to find better.
We didn't do much in llangadog so can't really comment on what's there but I expect there is shops etc local if needed.
Views are fantastic but it's Wales so you'd expect that.
If we ever decide to head that way again this site would be our first choice

Stayed a couple of nights at Ty Newydd. Friendly welcome from the owners.
Big flat field with all grass pitches. Taps on most pitches, with electric point within easy reach.
Ideal site for visiting Carmarthenshire, National Botanical Gardens within easy reach. Nestled in the foothills of the Black Mountain, just off the road over the Black Mountain Pass (made famous by Top Gear). Great for cycling, walking holidays etc.
Without doubt the most peaceful CL we have ever stayed at, just totally quiet at night, dark skies all around.
Basic facilities are all you need, all clean and tidy. Brilliant views across the fields towards the Black Mountain. We will return when we can.

Ty Newydd is simply a great site. Large, flat and well maintained pitches in a lovely location overlooking the Carmarthen hills with red kites flying overhead.
The facilities are quite basic but spotlessly clean and the shower is one of the best I've used on any site with lots of hot water.
The owners are very friendly and can offer advice about local shops, places to eat etc.

Lovely site, flat, well kept pitches (apart from the thorn that came through footprint).
Friendly owners. Basic but clean toilet and free, hot shower.
Would use this site again.

Quiet, calm with good toilet facilities and water.
Easy to book and to alter the booking when we only needed one night instead of 3.
Great welcome, great location.

Lovely peaceful site in a pretty location with a friendly welcome.
Handy for local pubs and exploring the western end of the Brecon Beacons.
We used it as the start point for walking the Beacons Way.

Great little place, especially if your into your walking. Your near to the Brecon Beacons and various other beautiful villages and towns.
1 recommendation would be to install a separate gate for those that wish to go for a walk, this would mean that there is no need to open the main gates all the time.

Fantastic site for those who love peace and quiet and wildlife! Red Kites abound and the nearby River Towy is a haven for wildlife including Otters and Kingfishers! The nearby village of Llangadog is great for eating pubs and has a fantastic butchers! The site hosts Derek and Lesley are very welcoming!
