We loved this campsite, a beautiful small site with so many attractions within a small drive away.

Family friendly whilst quiet, the lake where we went kayaking and paddle boarding.

Friendly and kind staff. Amazing clear skies for star gazing.

The only thing missing was water safety checks -signage, life jacket and swimming checks before allowing people to use the lake.

Life jackets were available, which is great, but could be mandatory to prevent drowning. (I'm happy to advise on Water SAfety if needed).

This is my ideal site! Rural, beautiful surroundings, tents only, spacious, and very friendly owners.

Very recently opened I suspect this will become popular. Fortunately they seem to control the numbers so it it feels fairly empty. The fields are fairly hilly, so not a huge number of flat pitches, which may be the reason for the limited numbers/spacious feel.

There is a playground for the kids - situated on top of the hill, so visible from most pitches which is handy. The kids can just run up there on their own.

Jodi is very friendly and helpful, giving advise on local things. You can hire BBQs and firepits, buy necessities and freeze icepacks in the small reception shop.

The facilities are very well kept. The shower is a double shower which is great for kids, but not so good for everyone else, as 1 person takes up the only two showers. Also, the water was too hot. This is my only 'negative' feedback, and I suspect it's just a matter of adjusting it from their side. I struggled to shower myself, but managed, but there was no way the kids could get under it. The hot water in the sinks got dangerously hot - scalding. I've never complained about hot water on a campsite before, and I know people have different thresholds, but a bit cooler water I the shower would be great.

I would definitely go back. In fact, all other sites will from now on have to compare with this.

Happy camping!

Great find in a beautiful part of the country.

I think this weekend was the first that they were open. Everything was spotless and the staff was lovely.

There were 2 toilets and 2 showers. There was (welcome) heating in the toilet block.

There were no set pitches and a wide choice of sheltered and open spots.

There were firepits and bbqs available to loan (for a nominal fee) as well as firewood to buy.

The only small negative was the lack of flat spots.

There was a well equipped children's play area, fenced om and secure.

All in all a lovely site. Thanks for a great weekend.
