Our 5th stay here, so quiet and peaceful.
This site is always a haven after a busy trip to London, and starts with a very friendly and helpful greeting from Charlotte.
The facilities are always clean, and there is the added bonus of items for sale in the info hut if you have forgotten some of lives basics.
We even bought some duck eggs from Charlotte to take home for the in laws!
Good transport links, and a nice pub within a 10m walk of site, and some lovely country walks from the site around Ashwick.
Even though we would like to keep this CS to ourselves, its only right to celebrate when the owners get it right.
Oh, and the booking website and follow up emails are extremely easy to use and come across as very professional.
Lets hope there's room for us next year!

Lovely, peaceful campsite set in beautiful countryside!
Spotless facilities.
Everything you need, unless you prefer a site with entertainment, kids clubs, bars etc!
This is the perfect site to chill and relax.
Mandy was very welcoming and I felt totally comfortable on my maiden voyage in my new (to me) campervan.

This is our favourite CS, and always lives ups to expectations.
Had a wonderful 3 night stay visiting family in the area, helped by the weather, and also the owner, Mandy, who is always helpful and cheery.
Facilities are spotless, and well maintained, and a nice 10m walk over the fields to the bus stop to Wells or Radstock, and a friendly pub.
Hope to be back next year.

What a lovely site, we were made welcome and it so happened that we arrive the day of the village festival which was on the village recreation ground the next field over.
Since we arrived mid afternoon we did not attend. However in the evening there was a Hog Roast, Bar and 2 live bands playing with free entry, very enjoyable we have made a note to look out for next year.
The site was spacious with room for a game of football, goal provided, with ooddles of dog walking space in the adjoining field.
The facilities were very good, toilets, good showers. Excellent dish washing up sinks with hot water. The only minor gripe was that there was no hot water to the wash basin in the toilet room.
Quite useful for men shaving also needed a waste plug. 5 min walk across the fields into the village pub which also served good looking simple food as well as great local ciders.
A really lovely information shed with details of the local area, maps that could be borrowed along with a BBQ for use plus an honesty box for charcoal. A highly recommended site.
Just be aware of the very narrow access lanes off the A37 to the site and the need to abide by the leaving and arrival times to avoid meeting another caravan.

Our second time here at Oakhill, and it was as good as before. A nice little CS that has all the facilities in a lovely rural setting.
Amanda was again extremely helpful on arrival and suggested a couple of walks, directions being available in the new info hut.
The facilities are good for a CS, and together with EHU make visiting a pleasant experience.
Caught the bus after a 10m walk across the field to Radstock to visit family, and also took a bus to see the cathedral in Wells.
Also had a lovely walk to Maesbury Mound and 10m further on is a lovely cafe at the Rocky Mountain Nurseries.
Hope to be back next year!

Returned this afternoon from a great 3 night stay at Oakhill CS, near Shepton Mallet.
Really peaceful,
All facilities available and clean,
And only a 10m walk to the bus stop to Bath or Wells, and importantly the pub!
The owner, Amanda, is a real star!

This is a lovely peaceful site where we stayed for 5 nights and would have stayed longer had I not suffered a severe attack of cold sores due to the hot weather. Very good mostly level pitches which were well mown. Friendly owner who ensured everyone was happy. Did not use the facilities as we have our own but most others did.
Excellent facilities for dogs; they have two fields that can be used for exercise and easy light traffic lanes for walking to the many footpaths around (unfortunately not all are kept accessible by some landowners).
We would be happy to return to this site but would suggest that the pitches really need to be more clearly marked out, showing the extent of each camper's space, since there was some odd parking while we were there and whilst the owner always came to meet everyone, it was often too late to ask them to move as they were already set up.
It is vital to follow the instruction to put their postcode into your satnav via the postcode of the Mendip Inn, as otherwise you will be taken along some horrendous narrow lanes and told you have reached the destination when you have clearly not. There are clear instructions at the foot of the page on their website that we didn't read till too late.
Mobile coverage was a bit patchy but a new mast has been installed on site and should be commissioned shortly.
Local shop is just over a mile away in Gurney Slade and is a decent general store.
