Yet another great stay at Port Arthur.
So quiet and peaceful and so much to do in the area.
Good choice of walks right from the site
As always Graham is a very good host and always has time for a chat.
Hope to be back again soon.

Enjoyed a 3 x night stay at Port Arthur Farm recently.
Beautiful secluded location with electric hook up and good shower facilities.
Would certainly recommend as a place to stay.

This is a lovely little site. I was originally booked to stay on the 3-van overspill but with the forecast snow everyone else cried off and I ended up with the CL to myself for 2 nights!
Port Arthur Farm is a well maintained site with plenty of space, the loo and shower block were pristine (if a little chilly, but then if you will camp in a snowstorm what do you expect?)
It's a 2. 5 mile walk to Knaresborough with lots of footpath options, and a bus back to the village if your legs are weary.
Peaceful location with a friendly, helpful owner - couldn't ask for more.

Chose this site for 3 reasons:-
Not far from home
Location (near Harrogate & Knaresborough
Adult only
Easy to book on phone, no advance payment required just rock up, choose whatever pitch is available, payment by cash/cheque in an honesty box in the shower/ toilet block (recently increased to £23 pn inc EHU).
No personal contact whatsoever with the owner which we found a little strange but ok.
Facilities are ok, unisex single toilet and unisex combined toilet /shower. Both clean, situated in a shed type structure so was a little cold at this time of year (January) but managed ok…. Electric shower which was lovely and hot.
One single water point and grey waste next to that, Elsan point next to the toilet block as were the waste disposal bins.
The area is lovely if you’re an ‘outside’ person - lots of walks and cycling is good on reasonably quiet country roads. Would definitely recommend an OS map for both though.
There are pubs locally but nearest is probably 20 minutes walk.
Nearest supermarket 2 miles.

We stayed 3 nights at Port Aurthur Fm caravan park,
The site is well maintained, with hard standing and some full service pitches Easy access,
The location is great for walking and exploring the area by car.
Knaresborough a good walk, with a little road (paths) walking and a beautiful woodland walk.
Also it's a lovely walk over the fields to Brearton where we had sunday lunch, the food was great, its quite busy on a sunday so I'd recommend you book a place.

Thanks again Graham

This site is pretty much exactly what a CL site should be.
The laid back owner showed us to our pitch, pointed out all the amenities and said we could use the fields alongside the site to walk our dogs.
The site is adult only, level, with lush grass and two or three hard standing pitches, excellent ehu and a heated utility block housing a sink, couple of toilets and shower (free).
It is very quiet here and ideally located for exploring Knaresborough, Harrogate, Ripon, Skipton and the Nth Yorkshire moors.
It is the opposite of those horribly regimented C&CC sites and we’ll happily come back if we’re up this way again.

Lovely site, nice and peaceful,
5CL site was fully booked so stayed on 3 van site,
Toilets and showers both good, just needs a few signs up to show where grey waste and chemical waste needs emptying.
Loads of space for each plot,
Nice walks close by and only 1. 5 miles from Knaresborough town centre.

One of the best campsites we have stayed at over the 5 years we have had our T4. Quiet and beautiful countryside surrounds this small well maintained site.
Shower and toilets were very clean and plenty of info available about the surrounding areas of Ripley(castle and famous ice cream), Knaresborough (Mother Shiptons cave), Ripon(Cathedral) and Harrogate(Showground, Shops and Turkish Baths).
The village of Scotton is a 3/4 mile walk and has a lovely pub, The Guy Fawkes, which does good food and beer. We bought eggs on the way. Nidd Gorge is a 2 mile drive and is great for short circular walks or longer ones into Knaresborough. It has free parking.
The Campsite owner Graham was kind and laid back and gave the feeling of a proper relaxing stay because of it!
The cost was £18 per night (but going up to £20 on April 1st).
There was a large field for our dog to walk around and no dog poo seen anywhere!
This is an adult only site and perfect for couples to unwind and relax.

A fabulous couple of days on this well kept CL site,
Shower and toilets spotless and lots of information of the local area for people to visit.
Graham the owner was a lovely man and told us of the nice walks and places to eat and always pleasant and time for a chat.
Will certainly recommend and will be back.
