This is a lovely site that we have returned to again and again.
Stunning views, good pitches and the restaurant is worth visiting too, even if its just for drinks.
The facilities are great.
Now for the biggest gripe. I have experienced this before but no so badly as this visit. The lights in the shower/toilet block are on a timer.
I was in the cubicle furthest away from from the main entrance doors. 3 times the lights went off and twice I had to walk out of the shower naked towards the entrance point to trigger the light switch to come on. If someone had come in they would have an eyeful and I would be mortally embarrassed. The timings for the lights I am sure have been shortened since last using them. I would advise to use your own facilities if you have them or take a hangable torch.

Absolutely beautiful place, very well kept and friendly atmosphere,
The pitch areas get sun all day good to watch the cold water swimming on Sunday morning.
Only living local to the area I will definitely be going back soon, would definitely recommend

What they do well:
Lovely clean and quiet site.
Picturesque with elevated lakeside views.
Friendly and accommodating welcome.
On-site contemporary bar and tapas restaurant which was really nice and an added bonus!
Improvements:
Two manual gates to enter/exit the park is good security, but a pain in the arse to get in and out of the car four times. Disabled or reduced mobility drivers would struggle in this respect. Perhaps they could leave one of the gates open during the day?
Hairdryers in washrooms would be a welcome addition.
Also I think a sign at the road indicating the campsite as well as the bar/restaurant would be good as the sat nav takes you to the village, then you pause at every layby and other farms/campsites.
We would recommend this site for a quiet chilled out adult break and happily return!

We absolutely loved it here and wished we could stay longer. Toilets and showers not quite ready but, just end of lockdown. So no issue with that. The site is a beautiful location, loads of space per site and the views lovely.
Signage not great, just says Stanton Lakes Restaurant, so thought we were in the wrong place.
The Peppervine Restaurant was superb, for both lunch and dinner, great service and good value and lovely food.
Would recommend and will definitely be back. Thank you for our best stay on three weeks of travelling the UK!

Fantastic campsite. Special thanks to Helen for her helpfulness. A little gem overlooking a lake.
Will definitely be returning.
Due to COVID the facilities are closed which is not a problem if you are self sufficient.
Throughly recommend
