Lovely peaceful little campsite, don't be put off by the road leading to it, we have an 8m motorhome and it was fine. Don't expect a flashy reception, it is like stepping back in time.
Colditz can be accessed by foot, if you don't want to drive, through a walkway through the woods, it took about 20mins, there is also the small town and a couple of places to eat.
Next to the campsite is a pool, this is not part if the campsite and is 3. 50euros per day.
Showers are 1euro for 4 mins, we paid 58 euros for 2 nights with electric (electric was 4 euros per night).
All in all a lovely campsite to visit Colditz (1-2night stay)

I have always wanted to visit Colditz castle and contrary to what I had read, this site is within walking distance and the owner gave good directions to a nice walk through the woods on a path that leads to the entrance of the castle. The site is approached through a woodland road and the entrance is only a few hundred metres from the open air swimming pool. The showers are a bit dated. Make sure the tap in the cubicle is turned off before you put your coin in the meter otherwise you will get a very short shower!
The visit to the castle and it’s history as a POW camp was excellent. We chose the English speaking tour and the guide allowed us to take our Springer with us. It’s museum was fascinating. We currently live in Germany and we will be visiting again. Water taps and electricity are near the pitches however you will need a container to get rid of grey water at a hedged service point near the site entrance. There is no drive over service point. Pitches are a good size and varied. Some will need levellers. Staff were friendly. We only spent 2 nights on the site but will return to spend longer. Imbiss, fast food is available at the swimming pool although we didn’t try it

Find this review and went there to visit Colditz. The SatNav had some trouble, look for the signs on the main road and follow them to the site.
Rung the bell, site warden duly arrived and booking in was simple. Site slopes, but pitches are flat enough, electric and water on the pitch - waste disposal and bins by the entrance.
Showers and toilets fairly out of date, but hot water plentiful in sinks (and in washing up sink) 1E for shower and it cuts off after four minutes.
Swimming pool next door costs E3. 50 each, and is open from 10am to 7pm. This makes it noisy through the day, but is wonderful to visit and swim in.
Rolls delivered to the campervan every morning at 8am.
Walk through the woods to the town and castle.
All in all a good, rural site.

Used this site to visit colditz castle. It's clean and functional site. Slopes but the pitches are fairly level. It's a couple of kilometres from the castle so walkable, personally I drove the following morning but there is limited parking there so be early. The site has a swimming pool next door but not a problem for me personally. There is a small cafe on site open in the evening.

Surrounded by woodland, this site is in a beautiful setting and well kept. Pitches are grass, many sloping but we were allowed to pick our spot. After ringing the reception hut bell we were greeted by a very friendly man who spoke English and were given the information we wanted. Fresh bread is available each day if ordered. Electricity is metered so you pay for what you use and showers, which were very clean were 1€ each for 4mins paid for by token, WiFi was available but charged. The site was almost empty while we were there but it looked like the showers and toilets could be in a bit in short supply if the site was full. There is a quite large outdoor heated swimming complex next door which I believe is available to campers but we did not use it so cannot comment on it.
We used the site to visit Colditz Castle and although it seemed quite away by road there is a very pleasant 2km walk through the woods to the castle. We took an extended guided tour, in English, concentrating mainly on the WWII period around the castle and it was well worth it being told about and shown where many escape attempts happened, some tunnels and where the glider was constructed etc. There is limited parking at the castle and there was spaces and motorhomes parked there when we visited but it was a very quite day we were told.
There was a Netto supermarket a few hundred metres along the road or a Lidl in Colditz.
