 This is a well run campsite with friendly, helpful staff who spoke very good English. Their knowledge of the area was excellent and they came round to tell us if there was an event not to be missed the next day.
The pitches are a good size and are partially shaded from the trees, which was welcome even in early June. When we arrived there had been a lot of rain but help was at hand to enable us to get our van on and off the pitch. The mains hookups - 6 or 10 amps - were fairly close and no long leads were required. Toilets were kept spotlessly clean - loo roll is included - and there were good hot showers. Washing was a service-wash priced according to load size. The swimming pool looked a good size but we did not test it. There was free wifi at a 'hot spot' - a bit slow but it was adequate for keeping in touch with friends and family. There is a small supply of essentials available to buy at the bar and bread is delivered daily - pain cereals was very good, cooked and delivered in a small wooden barquette.
When we visited the site was extremely quiet, it will be different in high season when there is also some entertainment.
There is plenty to see and do in the area including the numerous bastide towns. There are way marked walks and quiet cycle rides - maps are available from reception or visit the local tourist office. There is an Intermarche with open air laundrette at Villereal and a Casino at Monflanquin, both had fuel at reasonable prices.
The site was available out of season with the discount ACSI card.
We hope to return again next year.
