 We travel past Pont de Vaux on our way south and have always stopped at Les Ripettes which is a little further out of town. We decided to stop here because of its proximity to the very pleasant town. We were not disappointed and agree with the first review butI am unable to say why I still prefer Ripettes and when I pass through this region again I will go there

We visited this site in June/July spending 12 nights. It was us who updated the UK campsite database!
The site has been owned by a pleasant dutch family since last year, I suspect it was a municipal prior to this time.
The site is on the outskirts of Pont De Vaux, a pleasant town not far from the River Saone, to which its linked by a canal and marina.
The site is adjacent to a large park with a lake and plenty of open space. It is a nice walk into town through the park, or along the road.
The site has a mix of pitches of reasonable size, some would be tight for large outfits. Twin axles are not allowed.
There are 2 modern shower blocks (only one open during our visit), which was cleaned twice daily.
There is a TV and games room next to one block, where the owners held a welcome meet on a Monday evening. There is also a laundry in the block.
The site takes ACSI and has free wifi by reception where they sell cold drinks, ices and snacks.
It is next to the town pool complex, which has indoor and outdoor pools and a large waterslide -which children will love! There is also a sunbathing terrace and grass area.
The whole complex is very modern and clean, free access is given to campers, just ask at site reception for a pass!
The site is well kept, with some cabins to rent-in a separate section as well as having several hardstandings suitable for motorhomes. There are plenty of trees for shade as well as open areas-it was hot during our stay.
There is a play area for kids, and bikes can be rented.
Pont de Vaux is a pleasant town with several shops and restaurants(two very good pizzarias!) and bars. There is a small Carrefour in town, and a larger ATAC at nearby ST Benigne-with fuel.
For a bigger shop, its ia short drive to nearby Macon, which has a large Auchan and Leclerc.
We would happily recommend this site for long or short stays, the very pleasant owners are doing a lot of work to improve the site and are very helpful. Being dutch they speak excellent english!
The area has loads of walking and cycling trails-as well as being a short drive from main Bourgogne (Burgundy) region, which has lots of roman towns such as nearby Cluny, as well as the wineries!
