The delight of this place is Bergues itself as I have to agree with the previous review- the facilities are adequate but limited, and they seem to be unisex though it's hard to tell. In September there's a gaggle of geese outside getting ready for Christmas. They alternate between the grass and the moat and it's a hoot to see drivers give way when they cross the road.
Plenty of good bars, friteries and restaurants. Our favourite is L'Univers next to the mairie. Enough history to drown in and a great bell tower, although it's restored- the Germans blew it up in 1944.
We stay every year, on our way out or back, and there's no better place for Dunkerque- even Dunkerque. It's as close to the ferry terminal as La Licorne campsite.

The site lays within the fortifications of the town and 5 minute walk into the town centre square.
The few touring pitches are allocated by the warden, but she does succumb to flattery if you wish to move.
The pitch sizes vary in size but nothing too small. All are grassed and there are no hard standings. The ehu requires the French plug conversion and is 10 amps
The sanitaires are a bit dated and built into the fortification wall. The water is hot in all the sinks but the shower cubicles require a jeton.
There is free wifi at a marquee by reception. The town has loads of small businesses and there is a friterie right outside the camp. Supermarkets, outside the walls, are plentiful.
The best reason to stay here is that it is 20 mins max to the ferry port at Dunkerque
