 Impressive commercial site with good shop and bar /restaurant. Food was reasonably priced and tasty; very pleasant sitting by the waterway and watching the boats sail by. Pool facilities are exceptional – probably the best we have found on any site. There is even a bowling alley ! If you have children this site is well worth considering.
The site is part inland marina and part campsite. The area is very much focussed on sailing and boating. There are a number of permanent static caravans but plenty of touring pitches dotted around them.
The pitches are quite small, and if you get a corner pitch half your view is obscured by the adjacent caravan – this is my only gripe with this site, and the only reason I haven’t scored it a 10.
You are expected to park your car in the car park after unloading, but this is normal on Dutch sites. There is a supermarket in the nearby village of Koudum (about 10 mins cycle ride away)
Sanitary facilities are clean and well equipped. Hot water is rationed via a key card which is pre- loaded when you arrive with an allowance of 5 minutes per day which we found to be plenty, although you can buy more credit on the card if required.
The site is a wonderful base for cycling around the area; some very pretty waterside villages within easy reach where you can stop for a rest and watch the world go by. Cycle routes are well marked (you can buy a map in reception), and the flat countryside makes it a pleasure to ride around.

We stayed here for a car club get-together. An excellent site, we had people in tents, campers, caravans and in the site's statics or chalets. We were also given the use of a rally field. Our chalet was wonderful, I want to move into one. It had three skimpy double bedrooms, a huge lounge/dining/kitchen area and a spacious bathroom. Kitchen well fitted, even had a dishwasher. Exterior storage cupboard. Large patio with table and chairs and a fireplce for your fire or even barbecue.
Toilets and showers are very clean and plentiful. There are two cafe/restaurants on site, really nice and good value. My grandson loved the play areas lots. Bike hire on site. Indoor swimming pool with toddler pool too. Shop, but only open brief hours.
We had many trips out and found lots to see and do.
