Lovely small campsite. Very friendly and extremely clean. Nice touches such as free use of brazier for each pitch. Amazing site shop offering fresh coffee, hot chocolate and many other delicious items!
Liked the flexibility in check in and out times.
I can imagine it would be pretty crowded if all pitches were occupied but very friendly atmosphere.
Will be back

Pros: Clean facilities, friendly staff, very cute shop for essentials, honesty shop for wood, lovely part of the world, quiet.
Cons: Smallish field felt crowded when busy, nowhere for children to go and play, open car access felt a little unsafe, ground hard as cement.

Just back from a lovely short camping trip to Hickling.
It's a perfect camping site with spotlessly clean facilities.
Showers are free and are nice and hot, but not too hot to burn the sunburn I got this weekend!
Everyone working there was so nice and happy and helpful.
Plenty of wood available for fires and fire pits are provided for free.
There's a little shop on site with all the essentials.

The owners have 2 nearby sites, this being their first and is the smaller site. It is situated near Catfield Dyke and Hickling Staithe and as such is ideally suited for exploring this part of Norfolk with 2 major broads and 2 rivers nearby.
It is a no electric and no caravan/camper van venue, but has 7 superb newly built "shepherd" huts for glampers. Well one is a pod, which does have electricity.
It also has a shop just opened for sundries, , , but isn't like any shop you may expect!
The showers and loos are second to none, and the teams maintaining it all are just brilliant!
The owners have hit a perfect balance for those that want something that is just a little off grid, but still with a touch of comfort.
The site is flat mown grass, with hedging all around, and mature trees on 3 sides.
We used it recently as a base for a 4 day canoe exploration of the broads, and having also used the other campsite at Dilham, Jo and Tom, the owners, have 2 top notch venues. They can't do enough for their customers.
Completely recommended.

Absolutely lovely spot, a perfect place to explore the broads and go for long walks and bike rides.
Stayed here with our two children and found the site to be really well maintained, with clean, nice-looking facilities, none of the horrible portacabin stuff, just felt really lovely and natural.
Plenty of hot water, firewood and fire pits were also appreciated.

A lovely flat and sheltered site. Outdoorsy toilets and showers but very clean. It is a short walk to Hickling Broad with 2 pubs and the nature reserve.
It's only a few miles from the coast. For bits and bobs and a few groceries there is a large store 3 miles at Potter Heigham or a Sainsburys at North Walsham.
There is no hook up but there are glamping units.
Lots to do and see in the area, so this is a perfect base.

A beautiful, back to basics campsite with a rustic yet charming appeal. Jo and Tom- the proprietors couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly.
We didn't realise we were one of the first customers, the facilities are basic but lovely, the location allows good access to facilities, restaurants and activities.
We highly recommend and thanks to Jo and Tom, good luck with your new venture and we'll see you soon, we are looking forward to seeing how the site develops!

Stumbled upon this site while exploring the Norfolk coast: a brand new site that had only been open for less than a week. The brand new wooden building separate toilet and shower units were a pleasure to use and there were big sinks with lots of hot water for washing up.
A flat secluded field away from any roads kept the atmosphere of real camping with no concrete roads that make you feel you're camping in a car park. Me and my 12 year old son only stopped for a night but are looking to return soon for a few days.
We had a short bike ride down to a pleasant pub and sat in the beer garden with great views of the Broads and it's many boats then returned for to have an open fire in a fire pit supplied free. Fire wood was available on site (just £5 for a great big pile).
The site was only a short drive from the sandy coast: would definitely stay again and would definitely recommend.
