We stayed at this site again, for one night, on our way North, this year, and I am prompted to add to my previous review. Madame is no longer present in the office, having been replaced by a perfectly cheerful and pleasant gentleman who speaks very little English. The pitches, this year, were in need of some attention, as were the sanitary facilities. Mrs C. Inspected all the showers in the ladies section before returning to the caravan and using our own. I need also draw attention to the proximity of dairy farms in the area which could be the cause of the high number of flies we encountered when outside the 'van. We tried the local restaurant to discover that they only serve evening meals at weekends. We had to drive to Montmarault where we ate a really good meal at the Centrotel, which is on the main road, by the Carrefour supermarket.

We have stopped at this site three times, each time for one night, on our way home from the South coast, and at about the same time in early to mid July. We have always found it to be very quiet with less than five other units present. The lady in the office is very pleasant although not fluent in English. The office is closed until 1600 hrs. But there is a telephone number displayed if you wish to announce your arrival. You will be told to choose a pitch and return to the office later. We now don't bother with the 'phone call. The pitches are well maintained, grassy and surrounded by hedges on at least three sides. There is the inconvenience of a high kerb which proved too steep for my motor mover. The narrow roadways and hedges make reversing onto a pitch difficult, but there is room to pull onto the pitches forward and then manoeuvre once the van's wheels have cleared the kerb. The facilities are clean but gloomy, and accessed using a key which you are given when you check in. So if you arrive early you will need your own facilities. There is a lake next to the site with a man made, sandy beach which was very busy the last time we were there, as the sun was shining, and it was a Sunday. There is a small café and bar by the lake with a children's playground next door. The site accepts Camping Cheques all season, but the nearest supermarket is some distance away. The site is about 10Km. From the A71 and can be accessed from the North or South. The route from the South being more scenic, and interesting. Approach using the D13 to the D998. If you use sat-nav, treat it with respect, as it will try to cut corners by directing you down narrow lanes, and, as you approach the site, keep the lake on your right or you will be directed to the car park.
