July 2003 cheap and cheerful, the wardens are helpful. Site on a slope - get there early on a weekend to get the best pitch. Toilets and washrooms/showers ok --> about to be upgraded - so we were told. Supermarkets within minutes, local shop across the road for papers and milk etc. Super site for Blackpool - will be going again soon.

August 2003 Charity site with all profits going to International League for Protection of Horses.
Stayed 3 nights with wife & children (8 & 10)in tent.
Caravans on good sized flat area, tents in separate very undulating field (no real flat spots to pitch)next to busy dual carriageway(dragstrip). Most pitched furthest away from road where noise wasn't a problem though. Very open to elements. Little sleep 1st night worrying tent would turn into para-glider.
Toilets disgusting. Very old building, full of old cobwebs and not clean by anyones standards. Also, 2 gents had windows you could see through at night (ok if privacy not an issue). Separate shower block much better being much cleaner, having seperate ladies & gents, 3 showers + 5 basins (endless hot water) and washing-up sink in each. Never any hand drying roll in dispenser but some small tablets of soap.
No shop on site, or nearby, so take plenty of provisions. Supermarkets good 5 mins drive away. Guarantee you'll get lost returning to site first few times.
Warden quiet/reserved, wife tutted when we arrived because she was on her way out. Don't like to be made to feel an inconvenience. Just took money, not very welcoming or helpful - left to it basically.
All said, basic site providing ok base and cheap at £5 pitch + £8/night. We got in no probs without booking an plenty of space left.
Verdict: You get what you pay for!! 5/10

july 2003 a very nice well run campsite, the site is kept very tidy and is only a 5 minute drive from the entertainment centre of blackpool.the wardens made us feel very welcome and should be commended on the way that their site is maintained.toilet and shower blocks were absolutely spotless and there was an unending supply of hot water. again well done on your campsite and my wife and kids and i would thoroughly recomend it to anyone
