I found this campsite for the idea of spending two nights away camping with my husband (who isn't a born camper), my 14yr old stepson, and my 9yr old son and 8yr old daughter. All we needed was a flat field and toilet block. This site turned out to be a hidden gem, with its rural location it made for a peaceful stay. There was room for the kids and husband to pass a ball to each other while I caught up on reading my book.
We shared a field with only one other tent whom by day weren't there and when arriving back were very quiet. The site owners met us on arrival and directed us to where we could pitch up. The toilet was clean and shower was ideal for what you need. The owners did explain that they have fruit pickers staying in caravans attached to our field and this shouldn't put us off as they're NO trouble !. He was right they were friendly and polite. The friendly owners have great plans for this site and work has begun, my husband had informed me before we even left he wants to come back when it's completed.
The tea room a small walk away which used to be a pub is unfortunately only open Saturdays and Sundays but the walk to find that out did us all good.
We visited Dover castle while that side of the county and found small shops just a small drive away, including a kebab shop which sorted our tea one evening giving my husband the evening off from cooking.
Please trust me when I say this is truly worth staying at for a pleasant peaceful stay. As soon as all the work is done I know this will be 10 out of 10 on everything ! We look forward to retuning soon and seeing the bus bar cinema finished and the cosy club house and snack bar. Upon our departure the owners came out to wish us a safe journey home which I think was lovely.

September 2004 Went to this site first weekend in September. Very remote and peaceful also difficult to find but worth it. This is primarily a site for fruit pickers, there was loads of different nationalities on site which made it a really good weekend. Facilities are not that brilliant to be fair, but if it were a wet weekend it would be good as there are loads of cooking faclities all under cover. Site owner could have been a bit more pleasant tho. Just a few minutes walk away is the local pub "Way Out Inn" only one word to describe this pub EXCELLENT. Good beer, good food and very nice couple running the pub. Worth a visit on it's own. In short a very nice weekend.

Difficult to find but wonderfully remote and quiet down winding roads to nowhere. A very insular yet pleasant pub 10 minutes walk away. Facilities are rickety but very comprehensive- we found a kettle and fridge freezers, microwave, electric showers, washing machines etc. The site was very quiet and peaceful, the owners discrete but friendly. Plus, there were lots of flowering shrubs to hide your tent behind.
