Cracking site in the National Park. Huge pitches, nice cafe/bar, supermarket and pizzeria over the road. The usual petanque and table tennis are available as is bike hire, there's also a small lake/big pond which you can fish in. St Symphorien has all the things you'd expect to find in a smallish town in France.

There's plenty of shade available which was very welcome when we stayed. Also a small swimming pool for a quick cool-down after a day out.

You can order breakfast which is slightly pricy but we felt worth it for the day we were leaving. Food is also available some evenings either to eat in the cafe or to take back to your pitch. Thinking of food it's worth mentioning that barbecues are not allowed as the whole area is quite flammable.

It's an easy drive from here to the suburbs of Bordeaux where you can hop on the Park & Ride tram system.

There was some noise from a fair in town at the beginning of our stay but otherwise the site was very quiet. Typically slightly basic but perfectly clean loos/showers etc. Shower rooms have a basin and mirror rather than just being a cubicle.
