Date of Visit: June 2017 Unit:  Static
Reviewer: Old chap 1 review from this member

We arrived June 17th for one weeks stay in one of their static vans. In my opinion it was the worst maintained site ever the grass of which little existed was uncut the north wash block was in a terrible state. Our static was poorly equipped, no kettle, teapot. Toaster. Miscellaneous cutlery. No loungers or comfortable seats any where except round the pool. My wife was so upset she wanted to return home. As a tourer overnight it was acceptable but for a weeks stay, no

The entrance road to the site is not too easy to see, but is just opposite the Gendarmerie. It winds downhill and is rather potholed, so be careful, especially at the entrance gate itself.

The site is totally in woodland with mature, broadleaved trees, which give large amounts of dappled shade.

The internal “roads” are more gravelled tracks and the pitch sizes vary from large to ginormous. Electric bollards (10 amps) abound throughout the site but waterpoints are sparcely placed. You must ask the patron for the secret of “vide chemique”

In contrast to the “basic woodland” feel to the site, the sanitaires are clean, modern and have lashings of hotwater. The shower cubicles are large enough not to be smashing your elbows against walls when drying off.

There is a snackbar/restaurant around reception and reasonably sized swimming pool with 2 smaller pools for children. A very good signal strength WiFi is freely available and was receivable at !00% strength on our pitch (A1)

There is a new, large Intermarche very close to campsite which also has fuel.

The ViaRhona cycle path passes immediately outside the campsite and permits a very good, very quick way of getting into the town ( 5mins by bike, 15 ish by foot). In the opposite direction the cycle path goes to Viviers and for the more adventurous, as far as Switzerland.

The town of Bourg-St-Andeol deserves visiting in its own right as well as being on a the scenic route to Vallons pont d’arc and down to St Juste.

The site is not everyone’s cup of tea as it has a “camping” atmosphere rather than a “countryclub” one. We liked it and the couple who ran it. Will probably return.
