Lovely municipal site in a peaceful valley in green park about 2km from the centre of town. It is well signposted.
It has 62 pitches, 3 mobile homes, 2 gypsy caravans and a number of small wooden cabins designed for cycle tourists. The gypsy caravans looked lovely and seemed very popular.
The prices are very reasonable. It cost us 13. 50euros a night for the van, 2 people and electric. Tent pitches were 3 euros plus a further 3 euros per person over 7 years of age. There are also all sorts of discounts for the handicapped, groups, members of the Tourism Cycling Federation, adults under 29 and those from twinned towns.
The pitches are slightly terraced. All are on grass with gravel access roads. Ours was flat but some nearer the edge of the site had a slight slope that would have needed levelling blocks. They are all generous in size.
Reception was closed in the afternoon but a notice outside advised you park up and let them know where you are when it reopened.
There is a large facilities block with male and female WCs (paper outside but no seats), hand basins and showers (including accessible) as well as washing up sinks, laundry sinks and a washing machine and drier. As with most Municipals the facilities were not luxurious but were more than adequate, cleaned regularly and had plenty of hot water.
There's a drive over motorhome point between Reception and the pitches with water, chemical toilet emptying and a grey water drain.
Next to the Reception is a cafe with outside seating, well used by the locals as well as campers, that sells drinks, snacks and light meals at very reasonable prices and has live music every Friday night. The lady who ran it was very friendly and helpful. The free wifi was ok but only around the cafe area.
Alongside the cafe is an outside table tennis table, a basketball hoop, a volleyball court and outdoor excercise equipment plus play equipment for children, all free. There is also a bike hire place and a shed for secure bike storage. Fishing in the river that runs through the site seemed very popular.
There are plenty of walking, running and cycling paths through the park and horse riding and golf on the way into the site so plenty to do both on the site and in the local area.
The walk to the town was too steep for me as I'm disabled but there is free bus that you can phone which was brilliant.
This was a gem of a find for us. For what it provides and value for money it could not be beaten. We'll most certainly return.

Well situated little municipal at the end of a cul-de-sac so no road noise. About a mile from the centre of town and within a few hundred yards of a large Intermarche with next door boulangerie.
You can fish in the river directly from the site and there's horse-riding, aerial walkways, canoeing and bike hire all available nearby. And one of those funny exercise circuit things that the French seem to like.
It's very reasonably priced (12 euros per night for two including EHU) and there are an array of discounts for longer stays, groups, people from twinned towns and whatnot. Nice little bar which is also used by the locals. Pitches are a good size and moderately shaded for the most part.
Carhaix has all the usual medium-sized town shops and a large Decathlon if you've forgotten anything.
Possible drawbacks are that there are quite often parties of school-aged children if late afternoon/early evening noise is going to bother you though they've always been in bed and quiet well before we were turning in. Occasionally there are bands playing in the bar area and that can go on a bit.
Highly recommended especially if you avoid the bands.
