What a delightful find.
Superb views over the valley and a short walk to the Severn valley railway station.
A simple well kept site.
Very peaceful,
Would recommend if you want to get away from it all.

This is a great little CL and we considered ourselves lucky to be able to book a pitch for a w/end as so many nearby sites were chock-a-block. The approach road is a bit narrow but there are plenty of passing places and the entrance to the site itself has been recently improved.
There are a couple of hard-standings and the rest of the field was well-manicured grass. The 16amp hook-ups and taps worked well; there is a convenient dunny-dump which doubles as a grey waste depository.
Rubbish bins are provided, as are boxes for recycling. The owner was helpful and chatty.
A short walk down the hill brings you to Hampton Loade station on the Severn Valley Railway, a heritage line but one with a connection to National Rail at Kidderminster.
The trains can be seen from the edge of the site but, until Covid is defeated, you can’t actually catch a train at Hampton Loade. Beyond the station is the River Severn which has footpaths alongside, with the added bonus that one has been surfaced and is part of the National Cycle Network (NCN45).
There are plenty of small shops in Highley (about 2mi) but it’s a long climb by bike from the cycleway.
The nearby pub, The Unicorn, has recently changed hands and is said to be improving. It has its own campsite which was rather lively when we walked by. We much preferred the peace and quiet of Woodcock Lodge.

This was our second stay at this lovely peaceful site.
It has a view over the valley and the steam railway is just at the bottom of the hill, great for steam buffs!
It's a short walk to the river or you can walk into Bridgenorth. Lots of places to visit in the area (Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Much Wenlock etc)
Would recommend this site and will be returning again in the future.

Very peaceful site with great views over the valley.
Large enclosed field alongside for exercising the dogs.
Nearest pub a few minutes down the hill with another one at the end of a lovely walk alongside the river.

Terrific site in a beautiful location. Beside the Severn Valley Railway- lovely to hear the train whistles during the day.
Excellent pitches with tap at each pitch, which is a boon. No toilets but chemical disposal
Access is single track with passing places, you just need to take care, but it is definitely worth it.
Owners very helpful and good advice on where to visit.
So much to do and see in the area, can highly recommend

This was our 3rd visit to this site. It is in a wonderful location overlooking Hampton Load Steam railway station. If you are a railway enthusiast this could not be a better location, as the railway runs from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster that has a lovely old fashioned station and pub. The site is run by lovely, friendly people. The site itself is simple with just electric and water but having our own facilities that is not a problem. Every time we visit we don't want to leave so will definitely be going again.

Excellent site overlooking Severn Valley Railway - 3 min walk to Hampton Loade station. Great walks either way alongside Severn River. 30 min river walk to 'The Ship' at Highley for really good food!
Electric hookup, water and elsan Point. No toilets. Some hard standings. Site fee includes fishing on the Severn!
Wonderful owner, cannot do enough to help.
