A clean pleasant site that we used as a stop-over travelling across France.
The site is basically divided into two halves - one side (in front of reception) is laid out on more of an ‘open plan’ design - a grassed area shaded by trees - and does have good views in some areas of the distant hills - whereas the other half (behind reception) is much more regimented into defined pitches - but does not have the views …. -
The reception staff were friendly & helpful and a bread / pastry service was provided each morning, as well as a mobile ‘snack van’’ which arrived one night ….
The facilities block was modern and was kept very clean, equipped with wash basin cubicles, which some sites lack …
Autun is within walking distance (approx 30 mins) and well worth a visit, including several Roman features, including the ruins of a large temple and an outdoor theatre …. -

This site is divided into two parts; one with individual large pitches bordered by hedging and the other more open and parkland in style. Mature broadleaf trees give shade and there are full sun pitches.
10 amp elecric points abound and a normal european blue plug is required. Waterpoints are at reception and at the sanitaires. There is a dedicated motorhome and chemical toilet drainage area.
The single sex enclosed washrooms have loads of good hot water and toilet paper is provided.
There is a cafe/bistro which does basic food.
There is wifi but at an extortionate rate. The tourist office in the town offers free connection in very luxurious comfort.
The site is alongside the river Arroux and adjacent to the mediaeval gate into the town.
An Intermarche is reachable via the voie vert which is outside the campsite. There is also a large LeClerc in the town.
The other way leads to the large lake on the other side of the town which has every water sport imaginable, plus sports parks, plus a real roman amphitheatre forming part of a race track, plus a large bandstand with live groups every weekend. It is the happening place!
The large square in the town is where the markets are held.
If moving around the area, then go to Bibracte museum near Mount Beuvray. There is an audio guide in English which is excellent, and kept some 8 year olds enthralled for a couple of hours
The guardienne is young, helpful and great fun. We were there one July14 and she did the cabaret, singing all the Edith Piaf songs
Have been there several times and probably will go there again.
