We spent 3 nights at River Brede Farm in October and really enjoyed it. The site is basic with only water and a waste point but this is reflected in the price of only £10 a night. Eggs, bacon, sausages and other meats are available to buy on site, there is a shed at the entrance with details of the site, contact number for the owner if not on site and various leaflets for things to do in the area. The owner was very nice and relaxed about our arrival/departure time as it is late in the season we were the only unit on site. The farm is down a private road, accessed from a sharp bend in Sea Road (use the mirror on the bend if approaching from Fairlight). The camping field has at least 4 water points, the field is level which you can pitch around the outside of with a wild meadow in the centre. There are goats and chickens in the field between the site and the house. Camber castle is situated across from the campsite, and can be seen if you choose the right pitch. There is a waste water treatment site at the end of the road, but this is screened by tree's and didn't cause us any issues. We found several footpaths leading from the site, you can walk to Winchelsea Beach, the local shops (I would recommend The ship store) or into Rye easily. A really good spot for walking, visits to Rye, Hastings or Eastbourne. As the site is close to the coast it can be windy.
