 A pleasant and spacious CL, conveniently located for Poole and surrounding areas. It has hardstandings and seems to be well used by people coming and going from the ferries. It's level and the grass is short. The gate has a coded padlock so good security. There are many good walks but not directly from the site, and bus stops 1/4 mile away on the A350.
Some not so good points in our opinion:
You approach the site down the A350 from the A31, turn left at the only traffic lights and left again into the site. There is no mention that the gate into the site is at right angles to the entrance and it is easy to overlook this fact as you will see the site and what looks like a track to it. Don't take that track!
Recycling is totally inadequate, there is only a small crate supplied which is soon overflowing. I would have thought that it would benefit the owner to provide a larger bin to save him picking items off the ground.
There is a second gate into the site which seems superfluous, plus it would be useful if there was a shorter route to the farmhouse from the site, rather than via the 2 gates (you can get round the padlocked one on foot).
We were charged over £14 per night, somewhat expensive we thought.
You will be given a leaflet which covers most areas, but an indication of the nearest fuel station would be a useful addition (there is one at Upton and one at Corfe Mullen).
