A good site, for which we were only charged £15 per night, plus £3 pn for electricity.
Nice view down to the reservoir. We were surprised to find no office and no sign of the owner. After asking around we were directed to a house at the far (left) side of the site.
The hardstanding was fine, not too narrow as per other comments. No problem with anything on the site.
We were surprised to find only a small convenience shop in Melbourne, which is a large village.
Go to the top of Breedon Hill, which has footpaths and views on a clear day (it wasn't).

Lovely little site. Great views and easy access onto footpaths to walk to local reservoir and surrounding villages.
Site was clean and well maintained.
No facilities which was fine.
Electricity paid for on cards. We used £4 in a 2 night stay.
Owners friendly and helpful.

We used this site as a two day stopover between Durham and the Cotswolds. It was quite easy and quick to get to from the M1.
The top end nearest the entrance is a separately enclosed CL but although CAMC members we chose to stay on the main part which is less shaded than the CL and although some of the pitches ( the hard standings ) we’re a bit narrow,
We went on a grass pitch which was fine and also close to a path which leads out of the site to a public footpath from where you can walk to Melbourne (about half an hour ) or go round the nearby reservoir - great for dog walking.
You pay for electricity separately by buying £1 or £5 cards which are inserted into the electricity bollard. I did not have much of a clue how much to buy. I bought a £5 card for two nights which turned out to be just enough but it was very close and I would have bought another £1 for peace of mind if I had known.
No toilet/shower facilities but that was ok for us. There is a large grassed area for children to play on.

Nice quiet site near Melbourne and Calke Abbey. Both walkable in about 25 mins (but we took van to Calke Abbey and were glad of it, as house and grounds are very extensive!)
There is some road noise but you can get further away from road, and some planes but it was ok - got used to it.
Nice owners. They ask you to use green rather than blue in toilet cassettes.
No toilet or shower blocks but that's fine by us. Only £15 a night on small top field but serviced pitches lower down hill (bit more expensive) We used 2 x £1 electric tokens for 3 full days.

Well signed entrance with excellent access road, no toilet block, but all other facilities excellent,
We were on hardstanding with EHU pre-paid tokens, water and waste on pitch.
Very well kept grass, met on arrival and shown pitches available.
Excellent walks and cycle rides from site, pub and shops in village, and a bus stop outside site.
Will certainly return,

Lovely campsite with good views, friendly owner. A bit of a slop on some pitches. Electric is via a £1 cards.
We used less than a £1 for 2 days and that gave us enough electricity to power the fridge and heat the water for 5 showers. EE and Vodafone signal ok.
£11 for a motorhome
