Stopped here on the way back from Provence for one night because I always wanted to see the Morvan. A bit off the track, I know, but definitely worth it.

Probably never in 20 years of travelling I had such a warm welcome. The "new" owners Annelies and Alfred (since 2020, from Holland) made me a garden salad and homemade pizza and behaved like I came back as a friend after a long absence.

The site itself has only 5 or 6 pitches, beautifully set up in a garden below their old country house. It's one of the quietest places I've been to.

The night sky is unbelievable.

Sanitaries spotless and set up with consideration.

Huge Recommendation – if you're in for a quiet peaceful place in the midst of a beautiful nowhere with hosts who care.

Myself and my husband spent 8 nights on this lovely little site. Very friendly, British owners, who have lived there for a couple of years. They have 5 or 6 pitches (one has a touring caravan sited which is rented out), 2 little chalets and another smaller one inside a barn.

Very remote site, perfect to get away from everything. 2 toilets and showers are very clean with paper, soap, towels, bathmats, the works. The swimming pool is an above ground frame pool, which was adequate to cool off in the heat. There is a bar on site, which opens when you want a drink.

The nearest town, Autun is very pretty with lots of old buildings, museums, Roman architecture. Parking is either free or very cheap, depending on which car park you go on. A choice of supermarkets and lots of individual shops to choose from. A map of town is free from the tourist information office. A little train departs outside, showing you the main sites of interest for the best part of an hour.

Bibracte, a Gaulish /Roman town is nearby and is very interesting. The museum is payable but you can walk or ride a minibus to the archaeological dig sites without paying the museum charge.

Lac de Settons is also nearby, many people pull up at the side of the road, find a little bit for themselves and set up for the day. There is a beach area with a designated swimming area and lifeguards, which is a better idea for children.

Apart from that there isn't much to do in the area really, just lots of countryside to take in. We had a lovely time but probably won't return as we feel we've seen enough of The Morvan now.

We had a fantastic time at this campsite. It is a great little campsite with pitches with hook ups and a number of chalets to rent. Its great to find a dog friendly campsite.

Good shower blocks and site WiFi

Would recommend and would be visiting again in the future.
