 Brilliant site with great views and good tent pitching ground.
Football pitches and pool table and kayaking (I think, weather wasn't great for it at the time).
3 min drive from the shop and toilets is 1 min walk from your tent no matter where you pitch. No dishwashing area or fridge area.
Site worker wasn't very talkative (seemed quite disinterested).
Overall 9/10

We stayed here at lakeside for 2 nights
It was very clean warm showers clean toilets,
We had lovely weather the views are stunning
I would stay here again 😊

Site appears old, but looked after. Pitches are on concrete standings with grass in between. Front row overlooks lake (no awnings or tents on lake side pitches).
Individual loos which open directly onto site, clean but with 6 inch gaps at bottom of doors a bit chilly. All pitches have electric and water. Wifi works well across the site.
Restaurant closed when we stayed.
Campsite is listed in ACSI discount scheme at €19 - when we asked for discount we were told they don't have 6amp- so can't give the 6 amp discount!? So we paid €22 - not much difference but seemed a little unfair.
Overall a bit bleak out of season although several others on site.

Second time at this site, during a local music festival. Facilities are adequate, always available even when site is busy. Lovely setting, overlooking a lake, has a nice cafe / restaurant which serves basic fare at reasonable price. Staff very friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be returning.

A great spacious site overlooking Assaroe Lake.
The site is very flat and well drained with a good service road to avoid tearing up the grass, which can be rare nowadays.
Although we stayed just one night we had a superb welcome and all questions answered. Site facilities at a glance looked superb for a long term family visit.
Ballyshannon village is just a 20 minute walk and well worth the visit, a charming place with plenty of eating and drinking options at the right price.
I would return again when I next tour the west coast, a great stopping off site.
