This was our first overnight stay EVER in our new caravan. We could not have picked a better place!
My husband had a long and reassuring chat with Sue, the owner, before booking and we were met at the site by Geoff who helped to guide us onto our large, more or less level, pitch.
Geoff was really helpful and so kind. He really put us at ease and explained to us novices how everything worked.
The site itself is set amongst some stunning scenery and there are some fabulous dog walking routes straight from the gate as it’s really quite rural.
Having said that the roads leading there, although a bit bumpy in places, were nice and wide so didn’t pose a problem. Nice, clean facilities, large pitches. What more can you want?
It was a great introduction to the caravanning world.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and could not have felt more relaxed during what we anticipated to be a pretty stressful time. We will certainly return!

My 2 teenage boys and I stayed here for a few nights midweek. It’s a great little site, perfect if you want a rural site in peace and quiet. No club or entertainment. The site is on a small lane, up out of Holmefirth, with great views and walks on the doorstep.
On arrival we were the only ones there, a few more units arrived over the day. We booked over the phone and the owner emailed confirmation and let us know our pitch number (28). However this is close to the toilet block and I didn’t want everyone walking past the tent every time they wanted to access the facilities.
There was no problem changing it though as it was quiet. You’d be stuck with it during busy periods though. We have a medium sized 6 man tent, but would have struggled to put both the tent and the car side by side as the owners wished, but she was happy for us to use the empty pitch next to us.
It seems that there is an area for vans etc near the road and then lining the one wall there are non EHU pitches, opposite these are the EHU pitches. There is a wind turbine which you can vaguely hear at night, but it’s white noise, so easily blocked out.
There is an uncovered (glad it didn’t rain) washing up area with bowls thoughtfully provided and a drinking water point. Next to this is the toilet block, separate men’s and ladies. Ladies had 3 loos and 2 showers, always clean and warm.

We stayed for 3 nights at this site and loved it. It was a great location for walking and Holmfirth is a lovely village.
The owner could not have been more helpful and friendly and her father came around one evening to chat to us too which was lovely.
It is a small site with very well maintained and what looked like quite new showers and toilet block. There was even a hairdryer in there.
I would definitely want to return.

Although very basic this site was exactly what we needed as a base to enjoy the scenic walks and bars and restaurants of central holmfirth.
The walk down into the village isn't for the faint hearted and the journey back up is best enjoyed in the back of a taxi.
The amenities are basic but functional but the rural souroundings more than make up for any loss in facilities.
If you like rustic charm and back to basics get your self a booking. If you need to be pampered by all the latest clutter book a hotel in the village.

What a lovely quiet peaceful small site, and run by such lovely people. Facilities are very good and kept nice and clean.
Holmfirth is lovely took about 50 mins to walk in, although steep going lovely picturesque views so well worth it and a taxi back up is only £7. Plenty of shops in Holmfirth, we visited the Last of the summer wine museum, £2. 50 entry fee worth a visit. We went to the Black Cat Bistro restaurant and had probably one of our best meals ever.
Lots of walks from the site we walked over to Hepworth which was a lovely walk through woods where there was some lovely waterfalls.
We will definitely be returning here

We visited this site on a monday for one night and its a hidden gem. The field is marked out into separate pitches by spray paint on the grass which are plenty big enough. The ground is soft to push tent pegs into with no rocks to bend tent pegs.
The toilet shower block is new and really nice. The views are lovely in the holmfirth direction, as well as in the opposite direction there is a softwood woodland on the hillside you can walk through.
The field is not level, but it is not steep either. I would definitely return here. The cost was reasonable too. £15 for the two of us and our 9 year old son.

Just spent a weekend here and suited us perfectly. Views are amazing pitches are well spaced out we paid £20 per night 2 adults and one child with EHU. There was 4 or 5 caravans/motorhomes on site when we stayed as well as a few tents but there is plenty or room for everyone. The center section is gravel so gaining access to site is really easy however all the pitches are grass. Toilets and showers was absolutely spotless clean, these are a porta cabin, whilst a brand new toilet block is being built and are near completion. We had a steady walk across the valley to the fleece on holme moss but there are walks for everyone. Short ones, hilly ones, or long ones to suit everyones ability. Site is very close to holmfirth vinery but we didn't visit. There is a couple of menus of local takeaways that deliver to site.
I would recommend arriving from dunford road end and drop down to the site.
Site was so good we will definitely be returning.

We use this site as its quite local to us, the owners are very friendly and overall there is a nice relaxed feel about the place.
Make sure you follow the correct directions in as you could get into trouble on some of the narrow roads around Holmfirth though! ok so there are nice walks from the site including down into Holmfirth itself which is lovely and has many places to eat and drink as well as the expected tourist shops, if you do have a drink I would recommend a taxi back as its a steep walk back!
toilet facilities are great, electric has never tripped on us and there is also wifi on site which I have found more successful than most places I have been.
Whilst there are no kids facilities as such we take our two girls of 5 and 9 and they love to walk down into the woods with us of course and the site is small enough for them never to be out of your site so ultimately you feel safe too.
The views are spectacular so all in all we would definitely recommend if you fancy visiting this part of the world!
