This is a surprisingly good campsite: we intended staying here for just a couple of nights but liked it so much we stayed for over a week.
The site managers are cheerful, friendly and helpful. They explained - and showed us - the site is split over two areas which are divided by a road (which doesn't see heavy traffic, so no road noise or disturbance at all). One side, near reception, is where the rental chalets are situated. There are some nice pitches on this side and a lovely sanitary block which is modern, clean and well-maintained. There's a small, very basic play area for children, a small playing field (nobody on it, all the time we were there) and a really lovely small pool area with jacuzzi.
We stayed on the other side of the site - across the road - which is almost like camping in parkland; spacious, green and lush, with mature trees. Pitches on this side are mostly open (not hedged) but, since there were very few people there, our pitch was stupendous (one of the reasons we stayed for so long, that and the good weather!). The sanitary block on this side is a bit odd, in that it is situated underneath what is a restaurant which sits on the edge of a fishing lake (unconnected with the site itself). All very strange, but it works. If you don't like this arrangement, it's not far to walk to the newer block on the other section of campsite.
As mentioned, there's a fishing lake next to this part of the campsite (the clue is in the name!) and the aforementioned restaurant seems very popular with locals.
There's a variety of supermarkets within reasonable driving distance and we found a nice pātisserie nearby.
This is a tranquil site in a beautiful area, within reasonable driving distance of towns and villages to explore. They take ACSI - we paid just 15 euros a night for pitch with EHU - which makes it even more attractive (especially since they offer a 7 nights for 6 incentive).
Will we return? Most definitely!
