Arrived at campsite no one about.
Facilities very basic only one toilet and one shower and small kitchen housed in shed like building.
Didn't see any other facilities.
Because there was nobody about we left and thankfully found alternative accommodation

Took a group of Explorer Scouts to visit the Normandy beaches and stayed at La Rougerie Farm.
Adrian was a fantastic host and made us feel really welcome. He even fixed the minibus door for us!
Would definitely stay again. :-)

If you want a quiet site this is the one for you.
Adrian, the host, is a mine of information about everything D-Day.
The toilet and shower is clean.
Easily access to the main St. Lo to Carenten Road.

We stayed here for just over two weeks and it was lovely. The toilets were super clean and the pool was warm and clean also. No overcrowding on this site! Relaxed and quite informal.
Perfect position for exploring Normandy with the main D Day and other sites between 20 minutes and half an hour away. Two villages either side, 2k in distance, with butchers, bakers and general stores. We did almost all our shopping locally. Be aware the bakers sell out of breads quite early, by about 9. 00 am but they do bake all through the day so you can get fresh bread at lunchtime and for supper.
Lovely area for cycling and running, but running is mainly on the road, there is some canal path, but some areas are overgrown. We went go carting a few miles away, so good we did it twice! Make your own entertainment in the fields, read in the hammocks or play badminton or volleyball. The Yurt is fantastic!
If you like quiet sites this is great. Gave 10/10 for child Friendliness, on the grounds that it is a safe out door environment with potential for children to run and play like they did in the old days, others may disagree.
Adrian provided a tour for us that was so informative, that is extra, but it costs less than having your car serviced and you learn so much.
We ate at both village restaurants, lunchtimes and the set menu. We found the restaurant just of the roundabout the best, this is only open at lunchtime and gets really busy, so go early or book.

Great rural site, only a couple of miles from the motorway.
Adrian & partner could not have been more welcoming & helpful.
Adrian is a well renowned WW2 tour guide, with a vast knowledge of the area and the D day landings.
The site has really good facilities, IE toilets, showers, even a washing & cooking area.
There is a large breeding colony of storks just down the road in a ruined chateau. Well worth a visit.
A well placed site, for Bayoux and it famous tapestry, and all off the D-Day beaches, WW2 sites museums and Memorials.
We booked for 2 nights stayed for 3 wanted to stay longer, could easily spend a week or longer.
Definitely a site to stay at Caravan, Tent or Gite.

I went to stay camping at La Rougerie, a working farm near Saint-Fromond, for a bit of “me time” and yet the hospitality and generosity of Adrian and staff was far beyond the norm.
Set in a beautiful part of Normandy rich in D-Day history with a ruined castle a short drive away and an easy journey due north to Omaha and Utah beaches by car, the site was just rural enough to give one a proper camping experience. I don't like my camping to be too contrived. It was so different to the normal French Municipal ones which I personally wouldn't even consider.
As an ex British Army officer, Adrian’s knowledge of the D-Day beaches is unsurpassed and he brings an intense and engaging approach to a subject which will captivate those who wish to learn about June 6th 1944 and the following months. You are right in the middle of the American drive inland after D-Day. Like most experts in their subject, he clearly is always learning more about his subject which brings a fresh and contemporary feel to what was the world’s largest ever invasion.
If tents are not your thing, I also saw inside the gite which was beautifully clean and fresh, but I was not staying in it.
If you want to camp in a truly rural location and find out about the very ground you are sleeping on, this really is the perfect place to stay for a D-Day camping trip.
