 Another stay at a favourite site. It's a no facilities site just water and CDP. In the past access to water has been an issue as the tap is a couple of hundred yards across a field which can be too soft for a motorhome. This time, no problem all hard a rock.
The location is great, right on the Kennet & Avon Canal by a swing bridge so just sitting watching boats go by passes the time easily. There is a good pub in the village and another just along the canal. The Swindon to Devizes bus passes through the village.
The site is well placed for Avebury, Stonehenge and, for us lots of canal-side walks.
We confidently expect to return here.

A large triangular field with plenty of space for 5+ units. One side shielded by a good hedge, one open to the downs to the north, and the third, against the canal, edged by poplar trees. The north side is a public footpath which might be busy at weekends but was only used by the occasional village dogwalker while we were there. Good walks along the canal (swing bridge over to the towpath side) and easy access to Devizes. We ate a meal at the Bridge Inn (15 minutes along the towpath) and a lunch at the Crown in the village (10 minutes walk), both were excellent. The approach can be awkward when towing due to parked cars, but we had no problem tracing an owner who was happy to move. The grass is cut regularly, you may want a rake to keep it from being walked into your van. There appears to be a leak by the water tap which made the area muddy, no doubt this will be dealt with as water costs money!
