We used this as a stop-off on our way from Scotland to the Kent coast,
The site is a large well kept field behind the public house.
We had lunch in the pub which was a very good menu.
There are electric hook ups and water, which was all we required.
Site was quiet with little or no traffic noise.
Would we stay there again? YES

Our daughter lives not too many miles away so was excellent to stay near her. Was easy to find and the person booking us in was very friendly.
No marked pitches and the electric points were up against the tree and although next to the road noise was minimal. The ground was a bit bumpy but it was not too difficult in finding a reasonable pitch in the large field.
The facilities were ok with a locked toilet and wash building to which you are given a key upon booking in.
The pub is excellent with good food but can be very busy which tbh can make it quite a challenge returning to the site later on as there are cars parked everywhere and you can experience so rather inconsiderate parking.
Our main criticisms of the site is that I tried to book again next year but received no reply to my email asking if there was room for us and also we wanted to leave handy in the morning but could find no where to leave the key and had to wait for staff to come in to do so.
With all this in mind the cost was excellent.
Couldn't really answer re child friendliness though so put 5

Warm welcome at the pub a very nice pub too, huge field with plenty of space,
A "stones" throw away from Stone, Stoke and Trentham so lots of things nearby to do and places to visit.
Lots of nearby takeaways if you don't want to cook. Great site in a easy to get to location.
Will most certainly stay there again and the real bonus - £10 per night inc hook up. Bargain.

A useful site for a stopover, about 2 miles from the A50 and with good access through the pub car park. We just about managed to obtain a Sky tv signal at the pitch nearest to the car park; it would not be possible anywhere else, too many trees. We were told it would be fine. Level well drained ground. There is a herd of inquisitive Friesen cows in the field next door which kept us entertained.
The pub is very popular, but as we have a dog, we didn't try it. They were so busy on the Sunday when we arrived I don't think our presence would have been noted.
Not the quietest site, as there are roads on 2 sides.
There is a decent enough walk down the road to the right of the crossroads, but a better bet is to go to Stone, about 4 miles away and walk along the Trent, which is clean and fast flowing here. There is also a Morrisons with fuel.
Good price of £10 per night, we would use it again.
