The place is great and the owner/staff are really welcoming.
It's a relaxed place that can be described as nearly wild camping although they do have half a dozen camping pods available.
Campfires are encouraged :)

Love this campsite. A warm welcome from Sam and we got our usual 2 pods, but now upgraded. Shower blocks were clean so no complaints there.
You get left to your own devices and there's plenty of places to walk around nearby, and easy drives to Denigh or betws y coed.
Will be back!

Remote, poorly kept, overpriced.
Wanting a quick getaway for a night, without the hassle of pitching our large tent, I took the opportunity to stay in one of the ‘pods’ on this site.
The pods are well-constructed, insulated wooden huts in the small woodland area of the house’s grounds. They have lighting and power-points. There is also a fire pit outside each one. Thin self-inflating sleep mats are provided - not the same as the ones pictured on the website though; the ones provided are much thinner.
Whilst this may sound idyllic, that’s about as far as the positives go.
There is a toilet and shower block but whilst I was there, there was no water at all (hot or cold) attached to the sink. This sink is supposed to be for washing dishes as well as hands. When there’s no water, this obviously isn’t possible; the only source of water was the cold tap/rain water hose.
I didn’t use the shower so can’t comment on that.
The toilets were dirty (and on one day even disgusting).
You can’t park near the pods; you need to walk down a mossy slope to get to them. This adds to the wilderness aspect of them but is very difficult in terms of unpacking/packing.
For some, this ‘back-to-basics’ approach is fine. And it normally would be for me. However, at £45 per pod per night, the site just doesn’t live up to its tarrif, particularly considering hygiene.
You could stay at a ‘basics’ campsite for a lot less than this, or pay only slightly more and get luxury glamping. In fact, you could pay £45 per night and get a lot more luxury in a simple B&B or Airbnb property.
Not worth the money and certainly not somewhere I’ll be going again.

I don't even know where to start!
This place is unreal! This is the closest thing I will ever get to wild camping.
Me and my family planned to stay for two nights and ended up staying five! Even then we didn't wany to leave.
The owners service is more than AMAZING! The welcome we got was something you wouldn't get from any other campsite.
The family who own hafod hall are all so friendly, they went above and beyond.
My son and his friend age 7 & 10 were hardly seen the whole time, the followed one of the owners Sam around like lost sheep and kind enough he kept them entertained letting them help him with little jobs.
During our stay was the champions league final and we were invited into the house to watch the match along with a lot of other campers which was a really nice.
This place really took me back to my childhood I actually felt safe to let the kids go off and play the way I did when I was a child, I was happy as long as they came back about every half a hour or so to let me know they were ok, which Sam reminded them to do for me.
Anyway I cant even put into words how amazing this place is, you really need to go and see for yourself!
I would never go anywhere different to camp now ive found this amazing campsite with the most amazing views I must add!
