Brilliant Campsite. Exactly what it says - tent pitches with running water, quiet, simple and great for a camping weekend. When we went (3 siblings but 2 of 22+ age) there were no other campers.
12 Min drive to 7 Sisters run and Devils Dyke - connects directly to the A26. Was worried about noise but lots of hedge and trees block out almost all noise and no roads are visible from the field.
Owner is really friendly and helpful with directions. He offers a fair price and will allow fires as long as long as you cover your tracks and respect the field. The campsite is not where it is said on the map - its just south of Beddingham, connected to the northern part of the A26.
If you're expecting a fully furnished and commercial campsite you may be disappointed, but if you just want a place to enjoy the South Downs and a weekend camp it's pretty much perfect.

If you are stuck for somewhere to stop you may consider this one. It is at the hamlet of Beddingham, and the large farm is behind the church, which is by the A26 just off the junction with the A27, near Lewes.
The farmer runs the camping as a sideline and the site opens when he has had the first cut of hay off the field (reasonable when you think about it). So, early June normally.
All you get is grass and a tap. That's it. The field is a bit away from the farm down a gravel track. It is good if you like the views of the downs and little or no company, but you can't call it quiet- the traffic noise intrudes a bit, but I slept well.
The charges, as you would expect, are minimal.
The area looks good for walking, but I can't comment further on the immediate area as I only stopped here to escape the Bank Holiday madness at a busy site.
