We visited Annecy on spec so had no campsite booked. It wasn't a problem because, being out of season, there were plenty of pitches still available at most sites. However, those sites didn't take our fancy and, after driving along the main lakeside road and checking out one after another (searching for Utopia but heading for a divorce in the process!) we decided to head for this one and stay, no matter what, since we were shattered, needed to eat and it was getting late.
The entrance appears very promising and we thought we'd found a small (ish), tranquil site in a not very tranquil area. The site is flat and level and there are mountain views to the rear. There is a small pool (we arrived late so it was closed, but in any case it had a quantity of red and white tape around it so was not very enticing). There was a TV room/building with a huge tv in it, with one single, solitary viewer in there until after dark.
There are quite a few cabins to the left side boundary and further into the site. Unfortunately, the occupants of two adjacent ones must have been together, since they sat up drinking until very late at night (with the very loud talking and laughter that often accompanies a few too many bottles of vino).
There was one sanitaire block near the entrance to the site (opposite reception) with separate facilities for men and women. They were a bit dated, but clean. The path alongside the sanitaires wasn't very well lit (read: wasn't lit at all) so a torch would have been a good idea (ours was packed away and not accessible, typically!).
This is an ACSI site and the Manager held our ID card overnight but, when we went to settle up in the morning, he rejected our credit card and asked for cash payment instead, then charged slightly more than the ACSI rate and didn't issue a receipt. No big deal but, it seemed a bit dubious. I suppose they've got to make their profit, somehow!
Would we return? Nope. Not just because we weren't keen on the site itself (it was fine for a night or two, just wouldn't want to spend my entire hols there as it lacked ambience) but because we found the entire region too packed and touristy, even in low season.
