 This is a pleasant campsite, part of the Flower Camping chain.
It is situated on the banks of the river Loue, a km from Montbarrey.
The owners are very friendly and helpful.
Pitches are a good size, mostly hedged and pretty level with 10A electrical supply. There are plenty of trees for shade, but some riverside pitches have none and it was hot during our stay!
There are a number of mobilehomes to rent also.
Sanitary facilities are unisex but very clean with very hot water!
A washing machine is available for 4 euros a time.
The site has a swimming pool and paddling pool as well as access to the river via pebble beaches-great for dogs and paddling!
There is a play area for children opposite reception.
The locals use the pebble beaches opposite the site for swimming/fishing and canoeing.
The on site bar and restaurant does a good range of food at reasonable prices. (restaurant closed Monday).
Montbarrey has no shops but the nearest town 7km away has a reasonable size Super you and some bars etc.
It is about a 20-30 minute drive to the pleasant town of Dole, well worth a visit.
If you like walking or cycling, its a good location as there are a number of gravel tracks on the riverside(complete with signposts). Be aware the locals do drive along them to get to swimming and fishing spots on the river!
The site is ideally situated for a peaceful stay and for touring the delightful Jura area, Lac de Chalain, and the Haut Jura about an hours drive, Geneva a little further on. (Remember passports if going to Switzerland!)
