Good location for our overnight stop on the way to Cornwall.
Easy access a few miles from the main A road.
Well laid out hardstandings with electric and water tap and grass area, nice outlook over the rolling valley / hills.
Separate W. C and shower which were well kept, clean and in good order.
Chem toilet disposal / grey waste and recycling all at the top end of the site.
Would recommend for overnight or peaceful longer stays to explore the local area.

The peace of having the site virtually to ourselves. Because of Covid, the owners only allowed 2 pitches to open. Very considerate to say the least.
The weather was awful on the day we arrived and we had snow which was delightful. Lovely views of the Tors.
Male and female loo and a shower but we used our own. Wonderful setting for star gazing as no light pollution. Second time we've stayed there and hopefully won't be the last.

This was our first time at this site. A spur of the moment decision but well worth it.
Positives: Pitches well spaced with hard standing (you may need levelling blocks as does slope very slightly downhill but nothing major) and room for awnings. Picnic table for each pitch which was nice to sit at with a cup of coffee looking across the beautiful view.
Very centrally situated on the Bude/ Holsworthy road with Bude able to be reached in approx 40 mins. The large car park in Bude takes Motorhomes but you will need to pay for 2 spaces.
Bideford about 40 minutes with the same parking arrangements as above. Main car park by the river with parking right up the end takes Motorhomes.
Tavistock. Beautiful town with fabulous indoor market (closed Mondays) is about 20 minutes. Parking for Motorhomes is in the car park at the end of the Plymouth Road on the way out of the town. This is the only car park for them.
Not sure on parking in Okehampton.
Close to Tarka Trail at Meeth. Park at the Country park on the bideford road. Free;
The Granite Way from Bridestowe to Okehampton; Drakes Trail from Tavistock to Plymouth.
Facilities on the site: water at each pitch, recycling bins, security lights sensor operated at night, FREE WIFI which was great. Good phone signal and TV reception.
Men's and ladies loos and 1 shower which is heated and also heated towel rail. !
Site owners lovely and very knowledgeable about the area. Excellent price. We paid £15 per night which included New Year. They also take payment by card so no scrabbling for cash!
Negatives??: Nothing that would prevent us coming back but just maybe a little bit of added extras in the loos. They were very clean but the removal of cobwebs and spiders above the doors would make it look cleaner and a quick wash of the marks on the walls. Perhaps an air freshener block would be nice. Although the loos don't smell to be clear.
Instructions for the shower would help as for me it kept cutting out and my partner couldn't get it to get hot at all. Also shower not very powerful! Didn't matter as we had our own.
This is a lovely site so please don't let the negative comments above put you off staying there. They are just our views and as stated, they wouldn't stop us coming back in a heartbeat. Enjoy

We booked a 12 night stay at this lovely CL early September. There was so much for us to do (cycling and walking) but so little time to fit it all in. There will certainly be a ‘next time’ for us to stay and explore this part of North Devon!
Located and clearly signposted just off the A3079 access, even for a large, twin axle caravan is relatively easy. However on speaking to Gill we understand they have plans to widen the gate to make access even easier.
All pitches are hardstanding with 16 amp electricity, individual water connection and free Wi-Fi. Access to each pitch is from a slightly sloping shingle track. Levelling blocks may be required. In a separate building near the entrance is a toilet and shower (Additional charge). Across from each pitch are picnic tables for caravanners to use with lovely views of Dartmoor in the distance.
We were fortunate to see sheepdog training on the field immediately in front of our caravan – it’s amazing to see working dogs round up a flock of sheep and herald them into a pen by simple commands of whistle and voice.
The area is good for cycling (The Tarka Trail and The Granite Way) and walking on Dartmoor. Oakhampton has a number of shops including the Co-op, Liddle and Waitrose supermarkets. The National Trust also have a number of properties in the area.
We found Gill and Derek to be a most friendly and helpful couple who took pleasure in keeping their CL spotless and have no hesitation in recommending the site, either as a convenient overnight stop or for a longer stay. We will certainly be using the CL again when we are next in the area.

Easy to get to site, very pleasant owners and spotless toilets and shower. Decent view of the moors, and convenient for visiting the local area.
Site is adjacent to a radio tower, but as the pitches are below the 'line of sight' of the dishes, we felt safe enough to stay for 3 nights.

This is a super campsite, so much thought has been put into it. £14 night inc EHU. Lovely welcome from owners who gave us information on a walk across the golf course and through the woods.
Camp site has plenty of space and great views. Water taps on each pitch. Each pitch has a hard standing but there is an area for the awning that has been covered in a green baize type of material that makes it easy to peg out the awning, never seen this anywhere.
There are also excellent recycling facilities and excellent shower and toilet facilities. Did not use the shower, but big oblong shower tray with sliding glass door. Nice fenced off area set aside for exercising dogs.
Great to be able to get up in the morning and take our 2 dogs in to this area and able to let them off their leads. Lydford Gorge well worth a visit, as was Castle Drogo and the lovely walk that takes you around Fingle Bridge.
The Granite way is miles of fairly level walking, best of all its great place to walk on when it has been raining as not muddy. We went and parked in the Okehampton train station, trains only run at the weekend, parking is free and there is a cafe there that does lovely cakes.
You can get on to the Granite way from here by coming out of the station and crossing the road, or thre is a really nice walk if you come out of the station and come back on yourself and can walk down through the woods and past the river.
