 Fabulous site, great value at £12 a night including electric. It is not that big, but plenty of room even when full and there is an orchard behind the site, which in a previous visit a caravan had chosen to be in the orchard.
There is also limited hard standing. There is a toilet on site. Also recycling bins and usual waste, CPU and drinking water tap. Owner keeps the grass lovely and short and collects up the grass as it is cut, so it does not end up in the caravan. Site is dog friendly our 2 dogs enjoy their trips there.
There is no information hut/board, which is a shame as found it really helpful where sites provide this. That is the only reason why the site has scored a 9 out of 10.
There is a great pub, the Woolaston Inn they do amazing pies. Also pub is dog friendly.
Great site to be able to tour the Forest of Dean. If you get a ticket for any car park in the Forest Dean it is transferable to other F of D car parks all day.
If you turn left out of the campsite there is a nice stroll down to the railway crossing. The road does not go beyond this, however there is a bridle path on the other side of the crossing. We have never managed to be able to walk this yet as it has been either far too muddy, or over grown with Corn on the Cob, the farmer has not left a pathway down the side of his crops!
