 This an FFCC site so the vast majority of the campers are French or at least Francophone.
The pitches are flat and sandy, of varying size, and are hard, but at least able to take caravan, awning and car. The ehu (6 amps) are grouped in 4s so are in reasonable distance from any pitch. Water points are plentiful.
The 2 blocks of sanitaires are modern, heated and have very hot water. Toilet paper is provided in the Wcs. Showers are controlled by the magnetic card which is given at reception. This also controls the entry/exit barriers. Free wifi is available in the library and with a booster is receivable in some of the nearby pitches.
At the entrance to the site is a fast food restaurant which also provides take-aways.
The town of La Grande Motte was built in 1968 onwards and is designed for pedestrians and cyclists. Wide, well lit paths avoid the roads and allow you to the port or town centre in 15 mins by foot or 5 minutes by bike.
There is a voie vert which goes to Aigues-Mortes to the east and, eventually, Sete to the west. It is all along the sea shore and has many access points to the beach.
It is a very good place to have active teenagers as well as for tired old wrinklies. We will return.
