This site is excellent. The electricity pillons can be a little off putting but you soon get used to them.
Once you're there you can relax no matter what time of year it is. I do advise you take a bathrobe. It is standard attire when moving around and if you are sitting inside is perfect to sit on. They also keep you warm if it is a little chilly.
There is a lovely pool, sauna and hot tub on site at no extra cost.
There are 3 toilets, one of which is accessible and has a baby changing facility. There is a double shower area and a single shower in the pool area.
They have a bar with seating area and a lovely little snug. The bar is responsibly priced. There is a games room with darts, pool, an entertainment system and other things to pass the time.
They do quizzes, discos, pool tournaments and often have an artist on. You do not need to dress for these nights, it is entirely up to you. Some people dress and others don't bother, no one is judged. Everyone hopefully have a brilliant night. We always have had a wonderful night when they have an artist on.
There are often other events taking place through out the year as well.
The sun room is lovely to sit in no matter what the weather. You can also make a cup of tea/coffee in here for a minimal charge. All charges are responsible.
Everyone is friendly. It is very family friendly and if you have mobility problems they will make sure you can manage to get around.
It is the best club I have visited. We keep going back. We wished we lived a little nearer but it is worth the couple of hours it takes us to get there. It is a little sun trap. We have been there when bad weather was forecast and had a lovely stay.
There are a number of takeaways in the area who deliver to the site, so you do not need to cook.
They have a nice sized tent area with electric hook up if needed. When we stayed it was £46 for 2 nights which we thought was very reasonable. This area also has a well equipped camping kitchen which all campers share. We have used the camping area a few times this year.
The club also have 3 caravans to hire which are very well equipped and priced the same as the camping area. We have stayed in a hire caravan couple of times. If I had one complaint, it would be they don't have enough caravans to hire. 😃 Some clubs don't have any, so we appreciate the fact they have 3.
We haven't found any problems during our stays and can't wait to go back. We hope to return at the beginning of November either for a day visit or an over night stay.
It is so relaxing at Ashdene, it feels like home from home.
I do recommend to try a visit at least once.

Very pleased with my visit! Site is very clean and well kept !
Plenty of room on touring pitch and easy access to pool and clubhouse etc.
Bridle path just outside the gates for dog walking. Ideal. Certainly go again !

Members club with a few touring pitches. We were made very welcome.
The facilities - clubhouse with excellent facilities including licensed bar, heated pool sauna and hot tub were amongst the best we have seen on our travels. This, together with the friendly welcome we received contributed to a very pleasant 5 day stay.
We live a long way off but will hope to return one day.

Firstly finding the site - We have been to many sites and ventured down many narrow lanes with a van in tow however this one did require a phone call from the main road just to make sure the signposted bridle dirt track was the right way in.
Google maps doesn't quite get the entrance right when you look up Ashdene - it is about 100 yards further west and looks like a dirt road with a small bridle way sign and 2 large bollards, painted white, on either side. Just go up there very carefully and bare right and you will come to a big green gate. Give them a ring and so long as you are pre booked then you will be let in. We were greeted by Pam who’s friendliness was exemplary and once in we were advised to just ‘abandon your van in the car park and I’ll show you round’.
We were given a full guided tour of the site and introduced to some of the other members who were in the process of building a new sauna. First impressions of the site is that it is full of vans where people have kept them there for some time as they have built patios and ponds and all manner of ‘stuff’ to personalise their pitches. Some are outstanding and some are in need of a little development.
As a visitor they are limited on pitches. They have a grassed area that they use from May to September when it is dry but this is only big enough for about 4 vans and would be very snug with awnings up, then in the wetter months they use the car park area just inside the gate which has water supply and electric points.
Now we were a little cautious about being in the car park especially when we saw the electricity pylon in the middle of it! We were pleasantly surprised that the trees that surround it and the fact you are so close to the legs you don't notice it, it's not really an awning place but in the middle of November it was OK. Costs were £10 pitch fee plus £3 per person (£16pn)
Facilities - There is a nice covered pool heated to 31 degrees. Hot tub, sauna (with a new one being built while we were there) there are 3 toilets and a communal shower area all of which were well kept and immaculately clean. There is a nice little bar and communal room and conservatory that doubles as a function room. There is WiFi available in this area as well. Outside they have a tennis court as well as one for petanque.
Local area - There is a Morrisons down the road in Elland and Tesco in the opposite direction in brighouse. This site is only 5 mins from M62 so access to anywhere is pretty easy, there doesn't appear to be anywhere to go for a walk other than along the roads.
Things that you might not like - There is no rubbish bins on site you must take your waste home with you which for stops longer than a couple of nights might be an issue. Road noise is noticeable but not that invasive and quietens in the evening.
The ultimate questions, would we go back… Yes without a doubt.
