Easy to find, but the directions from the A96 seem to indicate that the garden centre is on the left, coming from Elgin. It's on the right, turn left just after it and an old AA phonebox. Turn straight into the site from the side road, DO NOT drive up to the house.
The owner was rather fussy about how we pitched, thought that was unnecessary, but never mind. The price is now £15, ok.
Urquhart is a very small village; there is a Co op at Lanbryde, left from the site, then right in the village. Lossiemouth is the nearest seaside place, has an attractive area of bars overlooking the footpath to the dunes.
The only fuel seems to be at the service station on the A96 towards Elgin, which has the usual supermarkets plus the attractions already mentioned. We would use the site again if in the area.

Fantastic little site. Very quiet and peaceful.
Basic facilities but all we needed for an overnight stay.
Lovely welcome from the owner.

Motorhome Towing a Car.
Welcomed by Irene, lovely lady, quickly found answers to our questions. The Site has EHU, Water & Waste.
Lovely & quiet. Just a few miles from Elgin, worth a visit, for the Moray Motor Museum, ruined Cathedral, Lady on Hill Monument & castle ruins.
10 miles from Findhorn, with its miles of Beaches, a very pretty village. Can recommend The Kimberley Inn, great location.
This site is a Safe, quiet, spot & we would certainly return. £12 a night, is very fair.

The Bungalow is a great CL for visiting what is an often-missed area of coastal Morayshire.
Situated on a minor local road a half mile off the A96 Inverness – Aberdeen road, the site is easy to find and to access. The minor single-track road is fairly straight and there are plenty of passing places so on-coming traffic is not a problem. The satnav postcode will take you a hundred yards or so into the road to the first bungalow, but carry on until the end of the ‘tunnel of trees’ and the site is on the left. Access to the site is directly from the road through a very wide gate that will allow access even to the largest of units with ease.
Located in the field in front of the eponymous bungalow, the site is quite flat and carpeted with quite long grass. We did not need to use levelling ramps, which saves time setting up and makes fitting the wheel lock easy. There is plenty of room on the site for manoeuvring into position. There had been considerable rain for days prior to our arrival, indeed we had some substantial showers whilst we were there, however whilst the grass was soaking, the ground was firm and there was no fear of sinking into any mud.
There are 3 ehu points on three sides of the field, each ehu point has two plugs and a fresh water tap, grey water disposal is of the ‘empty into the hedge’ type, which makes topping up and emptying out very convenient (no long walks to the service points).
Toilet waste disposal in along one of the field boundaries, so no more than 30 yards or so at most. Waste is tipped down into what looks like a cesspit which is covered by an upturned bucket, a simple, if somewhat smelly procedure. There is a water tap a few yards away for use when washing out the cassette. There is a collection of recycling bins at the entrance to the site.
Whilst there are not spectacular views, the site is pleasantly rural, surrounded by fields and woods. You are far enough from the A96, and shielded by a small hill and woods to eliminate the drone of passing traffic. The minor road has little through traffic to disturb you.
Many people drive through the area on route to Aberdeen or Fraserburgh, missing the delights of this corner of the Morayshire coast.
The historic town of Elgin is just 5 miles away, with its medieval street plan, shops, supermarkets, and many restaurants. There is the interesting Moray Motor Museum and the magnificent Elgin Cathedral. It is also well worth the walk up to the Duke of Gordon’s monument on Lady Hill, the site of a former medieval castle, for the panoramic view of Elgin and the local area.
Also, well worth visiting in the coastal town of Lossiemouth, home to one of the RAF’s Typhoon fighter squadrons, and a bustling marina. Further along the coast are is the nature reserve at Spey Bay, the little harbour at Hopeman and the busy fishing port of Buckie (plenty of fresh fish for sale).
So, here you have a basic CL at a very reasonable per night cost, in a great area to visit.
The ultimate test – would we return? Yes.
