We came in August for a weekend and although it can be a little noisy on site with the main road, motorbikes on a Sunday and pub backing onto it, we decided these were minor issues and to give it another go with friends primarily due to its proximity to the lovely pub so we could go for Sunday lunch.
It also has many lovely walks a short drive away and is an area we love. We will sadly not be using the site again.
Since our visit I have read the reviews and take with a pinch of salt ones such as 'the weather was bad' or 'there were too many trees on site', however if I had read the owners response to them before booking I would have reconsidered. One such response from the owner included "Thank goodness we don't have to put up with people like you anymore" and "So you think I'm God?. What a joker" and "So pleased to hear you won't be returning". For me these type of responses speak volumes. Therefore I don't expect our review to be dealt with constructively by way of apology or rectifying the complaint, should I be pleasantly surprised I will add to the review.
Both times we’ve been the owner was initially pleasant, but both to us and our friends the first thing he likes to do is criticise all his other customers, particularly the huge fuss one man had apparently made when he came out of his tent bare footed and stood in dog dirt. Frankly I’d have felt the same.
On our first visit in August we were prepared to believe it when asked to leave on a Sunday August weekend at 11am due to being fully booked with new arrivals.
However when we returned on a rainy weekend in September having booked the pub for Sunday lunch, we asked to leave the caravan for an hour as we didn’t want to get it stuck on the pub car park. Despite the entire sizeable site being completely empty, he said a tractor was coming to take some logs. I rang back and asked it we could move it to the other side where there was ample space and no logs in sight, but we were told this time that the ‘grass was wet now and we needed to leave’ so if we’d booked until Monday would we still have to leave because it had rained? Really? He certainly did not seem as pleasant as upon arrival. Moreover there was an empty hard standing area. We felt this was totally uncompromising and it totally spoiled our day as we love the Plough and were really looking forward to Sunday lunch there. Instead we had to cancel our lunch booking and go home.
I messaged the owner of the site to say there was clearly ample space and that I was annoyed it had spoiled our day. The message was ignored! Not sure what they get out of being so difficult with paying customers?
I was also disappointed at their reaction to my friend the day before when he went to the toilet block which was being cleaned. He was told the block was closed and as he turned to walk away I approached to use the block and the lady cleaning rolled her eyes at my friend commenting as he walked away holding his stomach. I explained he probably needed to use the facilities as he has Chron’s disease. She said he could have used the ladies, but she had not communicated that to him, she had simply said it was closed. She said to me instead that “he had disturbed her cleaning flow now” He hadn’t even spoken to her. He found this rude and again as a paying customer felt more like an inconvenience.
Our experience was very disappointing as we’d have otherwise used the site frequently in an area we love and recommended to friends. It seems like they are causing needless damage to their own business. There was no reason whatsoever we could not have nipped for lunch before returning home and parked the caravan somewhere on the completely empty site. We then had a two hour drive home having not eaten. It spoiled an otherwise lovely weekend.

Small but clean site. Contacted owner on arrival and he showed us pitch and site layout, pitch next to road but not a problem with traffic as others have reported! and plenty big enough for both vans with great view over dales from pitch.
Sigle toilet facilities for male and female (1 each) with showers also clean and well kept, site really quiet so never busy, as you would expect in January! outside washup facilities under cover, warm water will come just needed to run tap awhile.
Access to plough inn via road also with fenced area to right on grass. Useful with 2 dogs in the dark. Pub food good but expensive, friendly staff and good beer!
Local walks from wigglesworth but bringing a map would be a good idea.
Decent sized exercise area for dogs to run safely enclosed.
Had an issue with one hookup on arrival but given splitter by owner so could still use one just had to consider usage but with friends so no issue.
Good stay and will be back thanks

Been here for 4 days, sadly have to move on tomorrow.
Great site with fantastic location, owner very friendly, the site and facilities are spotless.
A few hundred yards from The Plough which serves fabulous food, what more could you want.
Will definitely return!

Pretty site with outstanding view but road is very noisy,
We were sited under birch trees and the sap from the trees covered my van it was like glue
I would not recommend being sited on the hard standing pitches, the main field looked fine

Pretty little site in a lovely location
When we booked we were told we would be on the grass, but when we arrived we were put on hard standing, which I would not recommend as the road noise was horrendous,
Would we visit again, very unlikely.

Just returned after a week long stay, our second time.
Well looked after adults only site. No hesitation in recommending this lovely countryside site.
Basic bathrooms but clean and warm.
We would love to go back for a third stay.

Nice little site - ideal for touring the Dales. Settle is only a short drive away and well worth a trip out.
The road can be quite noisy - especially with motorbikes using it as a race track on the Bank Holiday. Try and get a pitch back from the front field that borders the road if you can.
Toilets and showers sere spotlessly clean as you'd expect.

Just stayed at this great little site that’s adults only it’s peaceful and quite being dog friendly.
Very helpful host we were on a hard standing pitch which was quite and private.
Toilets are open they are clean and following new coronavirus guidelines.
Lots to do in the surrounding areas definitely will be back for another visit.
It was a stormy weekend our pitch was very settled.

We were looking forward to our stay at this little site to welcome in the New Year. On arrival we were met by the owner, a friendly chap who showed us around and explained that the site wasn't looking it's best due to the winter period.
We were given hardstanding pitches (2 caravans) which unfortunately were beside the road which at times is extremely busy and noisy. The lleylandii trees make the pitches dark and dank, they are in need of thinning out.
The toilet facilities were very clean and serviceable, one of each, with separate toilet cubicle and shower. The water supply and waste water area are in serious need of upgrade.
The Plough pub around the corner is a lovely welcoming pub with lovely home cooked food. We were even invited in for New Years Eve for the free buffet!
We enjoyed out stay but would not consider returning to this site.
