This campsite is in a nature reserve and other than weekends in early season is usually quiet across all areas

However this year many different groups of children and teenagers stay for 2 to 3 nights for up to 6 weeks of the low season in glamping tents.

Up to 150 children arrive during the weekdays on varying days and become a dominant feature of the camp taking over areas such as swimming pool and sanitary blocks. Some adult tutors keep the groups under control, but most don’t and the noise is excessive /intrusive. It is like staying in a summer camp for teenagers

Overall the camp is clean and regularly serviced, but a steady increase in food and drink prices over the past year in all areas is now excessive for the quality. This has reduced our spend in the campsite this year.

The moorings are poorly maintained and some have had concrete poured over them making it difficult not to damage hull others in the marina area gave huge rocks - you need many bouys to protect your boat

Have been a visitor for over 10 years and previously satisfied but these changes have given us doubts to booking again.

Good welcome in English, we were given a map and allowed to choose our pitch. There is the lower and upper Sites both with access to the cove and town but bottom site has easier access especially for the less active.

Pitches vary in size, most are separated by hedges and have good shade. The site is very well kept and has a pleasant and relaxing feel about it.

The bottom Toilets and showers were immaculate while we were there and modern. A small shop. Bar, restaurant and swimming pool but we did not use so can’t comment on them. Free good WiFi.

Walk to the town and harbour by steps or an easier walk around the headland on a prom past another beach and swimming area, about 10 mins.

The town feels very like a very Spanish working town, not touristy but there are boat trips etc available from the harbour and later afternoon you can watch the fishing boats unloading their catch.

You can walk the coast to the coves to the North of the site. We were only going to stay for a couple of nights but stayed the week and with ACSI discount, 18€, great value.

The main camping is in two parts, one at the base of the cliff and the other on the top. On the winding road up through the terraces are a few other pitches. The road and the terrace walls are all in good state of repair. Electric is modern plug 10amp and the free wi-fi is a reasonable speed.

The camper is most likely to be directed to the upper level where there are large, well drained and level pitches. However shade is at a premium until the mulberry and olive trees become more developed.

The upper sanitaires are all ritzy, tiled and modern but a bit disappointing. The water pressure in the showers is low and there is only cold water in the hand basins.

The restaurant on the lower level is alongside the swimming pool and has direct access to the town beach. The food on offer is well cooked and a reasonable price. They also do a take away menu

The town is reached from steps from the campsite and is quite hilly, but all normal services are there. At the port at 16. 00 it is possible to buy fish directly from the boats.

Overall this will develop into a very good site for those that have the legs and the puff to walk up and down the campsite and the town

We went here because the town is dog friendly ( see the local tourist info website ) and that's rather rare in Spain. The site is split into two main levels, the lower area at Reception was completely full with many looking seasonal.

We were up on a higher level accessed by a tight but not impossible road ( judging by the road marks a few vans had grounded their tails by not using the whole road width ). There is a toilet block on each level but the lower is the most modern and doesn't have showers without doors !

The upper block has a staggered wall layout at the shower cubicles which some may not love. Personally, it was not a problem for me -if someone wants to look at my posterior, it's them I feel sorry for !The pitches are sandy but firm but unless you get close to the road, some are very tight to access.

I couldn't get my 8M unit out without brushing hedges. There is a well stocked shop, restaurant, pool which looks fine, a motorhome service point and it is directly on a beach. One thing I couldn't find was a fresh water tap and was directed by a dutch chap to use the foot bath tap ( I told the wife after we left the site).

The town is typically Spanish and probably not the best place to get a full English but it has plenty of nice bars and restaurants and most are dog friendly. There is a working harbour and the free tapas at the harbourside bar were a treat of fresh seafood.

There are 2 beaches that accept dogs within walking distance of the site but both had problems. The southern one was covered in piles of seaweed ( about a foot deep, as was the beach at the campsite ) and the small beach to the north was really difficult to access safely, especially with a keen Labrador in tow !

If you are without dogs, there are 2 cracking beaches in the town which were well cared for. There is also a fantastic health centre directly opposite the site where my son had to be treated ( free with your EHIC card ).

The town is just off the A7 motorway and there is a large supermarket near the slip road for supplies. Finally, there is a train station close to the site (you will hear the trains ) which gives easy access up and down the coast
