Beautiful site, everything done to high quality.
Very welcoming staff. Ground are beautiful to walk around, nice small swimming pool, though this can be very busy at times. Good access to Loire Valley area of France.
Some pitches are not very flat under trees and need clearing of debris before pitching (although there had been some very high winds this summer)

Lovely site in the grounds of a small chateau, so you are pitched in peaceful wooded countryside.
The owners have clearly put a lot of effort into making this a very pleasant and eco-friendly site.
The swimming pool was very nice – lovely and really warm water.
There was a long ramp within the pool to access the water – maybe to make it accessible to people with disabilities.
There was a ‘night market’ one evening at the site where local traders were selling food, drink, leather products etc.
The toilet blocks had single sex toilets and a unisex shower area. It was easy to book online while we were in France.
There are a lot of chateaux to see in the area.

Following our really good holiday at this site back in 2019 I booked for one night on our way to The Dordogne.
The pitch I was offered first was in the sunny area of the site, preferring shade it was an easy ask to swap to another.
The pool is still fantastic. The closest shower block was closed as the site wasn’t very busy but the other still isn’t far away.
We would have tried the restaurant but it was closed on a Sunday night when we were there, which is a shame as now we’re not allowed to take any meat or dairy across to France we needed to go shopping on Sunday morning on our way to site so we had something for tea.
Still a lovely site that I recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.
There is no road noise, the site is large with big pitches and good facilities.

We have just returned from 8 nights here. A fantastic campsite with friendly owners and staff. A lot of hard work has gone in to making this lovely site a real destination site. Everything is well planned and good quality.
We were pitched on pitch 147, a lovely big, shaded pitch amongst the trees. Electricity and water are shared between 2 pitches. There is a variety of open and shady pitches across 2 areas, either side of the courtyard and house.
There are 2 shower blocks on the site, both new last year, well laid out with separate male and female toilets with seats, toilet roll and soap provided, unisex showers and plenty of washing up sinks.
The swimming pool is heated, has a ramp rather than steps and is 140cm deep throughout. Next to this is the orangerie bar. There are sunloungers and umbrellas. There is a children's play area to one side of the buildings.
Inside the courtyard is the reception, shop/milk bar, restaurant and laundry as well as I think 3 gites for rental. Entertainment for children was put on everyday with games, quizzes, market etc in the evenings. Bread is available to order every day and is very reasonably priced.
The site is well placed for visiting all areas of The Loire valley, the village is a short walk from site and there are a couple of large supermarkets in Chateau Renault. We went to Chateaux at Chambord and Chenonceau. Had days out to Loches, and Vendome. We visited the wine cave Monmousseau, and wandered round the town, donjon and museum at Montrichard. There is a large market on Sunday in Amboise and the town is very pretty.
I can see this site getting very popular in a couple of years so suggest you visit now while people don't know about it!

We stopped off here enroute to Bordeaux for one night, and on reflection could have happily stayed here longer. The site is owned by an english family (Tom greeted us) who have restored the small chateaux and outbuildings into a wonderful site with new facilities. They only opened this year so that may be why it was a little quiet, with word not having spread yet. I'm sure that will change in due course. The 'Orangerie' has been renovated and is now the bar area located next to the pool.
Having not stayed at a Castels site previously I was concerned at being hammered for a costly pitch, but the price was incredibly reasonable for 3, a caravan & electric, especially considering the quality of the place (<€40 if I recall).
You can order the usual bread & croissants etc and there is a play park for children. A nice touch were a couple of bikes which could be used to free of charge to get about.
I can't comment on the local area, but the site is surrounded by woods and very private & quiet.
