New owners have taken over the pub since last year and they seem to be working very hard to make this place better.
It’s no longer just park where you like. You need to check in when you arrive which is so much better.
The food is home cooked and great value. We’ve had Sunday lunch today and the portion was huge and just £10 The site is clean and tidy with electric paid by pre purchased card.
There’s water and waste. Shower block with toilets which need updating but they do the job. Plenty of space for the kids to run around and a few slides etc.
Some weekends there is entertainment on which is great. Karaoke outside in the sunshine this weekend was 1st class.
It’s a minutes walk to the River Trent.
Lots of lovely places to visit nearby such as Doddington Hall, Wispey nature reserve and Lincoln.

The pub was nice and did a really good meal. The bar staff were friendly and had a laugh with the customers. There was a rave in the other side off the bar if you were into that kind of stuff.
However that was about the only good bits, the site was a free for all. You just parked your caravan or pitched your tent wherever you wanted. As you can imagine people had their tents and caravan literally 2 feet away from each other.
The first night there was a group off people playing music till 3am. When I say playing music I mean DJ style with subwoofers. You thought the staff might off come out and told them to turn it down. My friend was the other end off the site and he said they could hear it.
The showers were warm but very low pressure. The showers were grubby and need some major tlc.
The second night was more pleasant as the group from the night before must off been tired out as there was no DJ set this night.
The swings and slides on the park were good for the kids to play on but same again they had to be 30 years old and could do with some tlc. Chains were missing off the swings and they had massive holes in some off the other frames.
All in all we didn’t have the best stay and will not return. Shame really because the pub has potential and maybe the site could.
