Just had 3 lovely nights camping at Alpaca Camp. The site is back to basic and all the better for it, the two outdoor showers work better than higher spec places we have stayed and the water was always hot.
It was good to see other families enjoying the open space and hear them playing in the wood.
The site has everything you could ask for, lakes to walk round a small area of wood and a field full of alpacas and llamas. Plus Geoffrey the camel. What’s not to love about it?

Beautiful setting and fun to camp alongside the Alpacas, but other than that the site is pretty basic. That is itself is not a problem but the price is pretty high for what's on offer. 7 porta loos, two wooden showers, one washing up station and 1 tap - all to service a potential 44 pitches.
On top of this fellow campers drive around the camping fields at pretty high speed considering there are children and dogs running around - 2 separate groups of campers also decided to have driving lessons in the fields in the evenings. To top it off, music and drunk shouting carried on well past 2am. All great fun when camping with a toddler and baby.
Pretty disappointing and an expensive 2 nights of camping at £108 including the compulsory purchase of their expensive logs if you want a camp fire.
