Nice site with lovely beaches but was so busy with screaming kids around it spoiled the outlook !
Such a shame for the other quiet couples that were there also !

Lovely 14 mile scenic drive, passing the start of the walk up to the Eagle observatory, Amhuinnsuidhe castle, and watch out for the Highland cows!
There's a motor home carpark with hook up just before the decent to the visitor centre and another carpark for day visitors cars and camper vans right at the centre. (no hook ups - busy in day but quieter at night.
Centre had showers toilets opening times on door. One toilet at rear open 24 hours.
Beautiful beach and walks from the site.
No warden but community honesty box - £10. At carpark - site at top is £15 (hook ups).

We stayed in the car park at the center due to the New site not being open yet. The car park has water and a waste tank which will cost you £3 to empty your loo. The Gateway site is right next to the road but pitches were of a good size. Fantastic views across the sea and highland cows inland. Be warned, the road to Huisinis is not for the fainthearted, extremely narrow and twisting but full of surprises. If you are looking to grab a spot you need to get there quite early as it is a popular place.

The drive to the site is stunning, you pass by an old whaling station, a castle you go right past its front door ! We saw :- Sea Eagle, Golden Eagles on the way. Take plenty of supplies with you as there are no shops.
At Huisinish there are 5 electric pitches about half mile from the centre, £15 / night paid into honesty box, they were all taken when we arrived. At the centre you can park in the car park, it is advisable to arrive early to find a spot. Levellers may be required. There are showers £1 / 3 min and toilets that are cleaned daily they were locked at 8. 30pm and opened at 7am. There is a 24 hour toilet at rear of building. Chemical waste disposal costs £3 & you get 30 Lt of water. Payment is by honesty box. We left £20 for 2 nights.
There is also a snack van open 9am - 5pm Not Open Sunday. Bacon butties to die for.
The white sand beach is truly magnificent. Good walks from jetty to Gleann Crabhadail when you pass by another wonderful undisturbed white sandy beach. Taking in the flowers on the Machir. This place is Heaven. We Will Return.

Loved it! Amazing drive to get there, stunning scenery, narrow twisty, steep exciting single track road.
Allow an hour to travel the 14 miles to it from the main road. It’s a remote but magical place. The environs of Huisinis are just beautiful. Lovely walking, be sure to head through the machir to the jetty. Amazing to just sit and look out to neighbouring islands. There is a walk to a close by beach via a cliff path. Has vertical drops and not for the faint hearted! We didn’t do it, but it’s beautiful everywhere so there wasn’t the need.
Huisinis beach is stunning, not busy, very clean. Could spend hours there, there is a newish building with picnic tables inside, toilets and showers. Facilities clean, fairly new. Lots of info on the area.
The pitches are before you arrive at the gateway centre and from the pitches it’s a short walk up then down a hilly part of the road. This is where you can get fresh water for drinkin but it will cost you £3 to unlock the CDP when are ready to leav3 the area. I think it’s more of a water saving thing as there was a tanker delivering water when we there.
So. There are 5 pitches I total just really in a big lay-by. It’s fenced off, grass between pitches. Brilliant views, 5 min walk to beach and centre. No shops. Go well stocked!
Hookups are at each pitch. Be aware. Only 6 Amps, not a huge issue for most though.
There is no warden. It’s not an actual site. Get there early in peak season as it fills up. There is no set fee, you just leave donation in box.
We did see people overnighting in the car park at the centre too, still in beautiful area though a bit tight for space and no signs to say not to. It is a long way to travel to find the pitches are full.
I’d go back in a heartbeat ! Only marking down due to distance to water and CDP but this really is kind of semi wild, so not a huge issue
