We liked this site, but it's difficult to get out onto the main road, as it's round a corner and up a hill. However, when you finally leave the owner dons her high Vis and goes out in the road to stop any traffic. 10 am leaving time for this reason, as it's the quietest.
The site itself is very good as already said, and it's quite easy to get to the coast, Beer in one direction and Lyme Regis in the other. To find it, from the A35, take the road so Seaton.
If you are coming from the east, don't use sat nav which will try to take you to the A303 and then down B roads to Shute for some unknown reason.
We would use it again if in the area.

The facilities were very well organised, the dog walk was lovely and the owners very welcoming. The views from our pitch were amazing!
The only downsides were slight Road noise at busy times and access to the site from the road- we managed to miss the entrance twice!
However I'm sure we will return, it's very convenient for all the local attractions.

Excellent site with great views over fields to the Blackdown Hills - nice sunsets if you’re lucky with the weather. We used it as a base for visiting River Cottage.
The coast is nearby with Lyme Regis and Axminster just a short drive away. Well located for touring the rural Devon/ Dorset/ Somerset borders area which has much to offer avoiding the crowds on the coast.
Carole is very welcoming and the site is well maintained with all you need. Excellent value at £12 per night including EHU.

Very nice site. The friendly owners were on hand to help in any way they could. Given a folder on arrival with lots of information about the surrounding area and things going on.
It is very clean and tidy with lots of space and wonderful views across the valley.
Liked it so much we are returning in September.
Derek and Pauline.

We booked this site for 4 nights but when we got there our car broke down and we ended up staying for 10 night.
Couple were really friendly and site is well maintained.
We then sold our caravan due to lock down but will be trying to book a pitch this year.

We had a very warm welcome from Carole when we arrived at Shamwari. She provided us with a large folder of information about attractions in the immediate area, and also further afield. It is a fairly large Cl with 5 very spacious grass pitches which are well separated.
The CL faces west with panoramic views over the countryside, and as a result some fabulous sunsets when we were there. There is a screened area in a corner of the CL for disposal of waste, waste water and toilet emptying, with recycling facilities and a tap with hose for cleaning. The fresh water tap is several metres away to keep it clear of the “dirty” area.
There is a little road noise from the nearby A35 and the A358 from which the CL is accessed, but this was not intrusive at all, and certainly did not prevent us from hearing the bird song!
There is plenty to see in the area, and Shamwari is close to Axminster, Seaton (the Wetlands), Sidmouth, Lyme Regis and Chard (Forde Abbey).
This is an excellent place to stay for members of the Caravan and Motorhome Club and you will be assured of a very warm welcome.
As this is a Certificated Location there is no toilet or shower block.
There plenty of shops, restaurants and pubs in Axminster which is just over a mile away.
At just £12 per night for a pitch and 2 people this is also a real bargain. We will certainly be returning in the future.
