 One of 4 sites at the end of the Salthill Promenade, approx 4 km from Galway town centre.
The site has a mixture of grass and hardstanding, all with electric. Water taps every few pitches, wifi across the site. The facilities block was old but kept very clean. The showers were included in the nightly rate, push buttons, water warm but not hot.
The two managers were on site from 11am to 9pm, always friendly and helpful and making sure the site was well kept and everyone happy.
The bus goes from outside the campsite into Galway, €2. 40 each way - takes 15 mins. You can walk onto the promenade and walk in that way - about an hour but loads to see - especially the Concrete Diving board where we watch 20-30 people diving into the sea.
Galway itself so worth a visit, a small city by any standards but enough to keep you for a good few days. Plenty of music shops, buskers, bars and cafes plus of course shops galore.
For us a great place to stop, the campsite was €28 for 2 people including showers, electric and wifi but that was €10 less than the one next door so we though good value.
