Beautiful, picturesque little campsite with a river running alongside.
The campsite is a 2 minute walk from the village caldbeck which has a pub and a cafe.
The small amount of pitches meant it was a peaceful stay.
We will definitely be coming back!

Lovely site right next to the river. Excellent shower, toilet block. Clean and free shower, perfect.
Visited on a cycling trip, great quiet country lanes abound.
Only stayed one night but visited both the local cafes and the pub.
Food looked really appetising in the pub but I'd already eaten a delicious cumberland sausage bap in the quaint watermill cafe.
Easy stroll down the riverside to the old bobbin mill and Waterfall.
Level, soft pitch, nice and quiet, couldn't ask for more.
Oh and very reasonable rates.

Very clean, excellent toilet and washing up area.
Owners were available and friendly.
Sheep would come up to the fence to say 'hello', they were very polite.
We were cycling the NCN Route 10 Reivers, and the site is ideal for that.
The Cumbria Way also goes through the site too which is great.
Picnic table and BBQs make the site really comfortable.

Whilst walking the Cumbria Way Caldbeck is a natural stop, we should have put this in for a rest day. If backpacking in the campsite is just behind the Church there is a small bridge over the river.
The pitches are on flat soft grass. The couple who own the site couldn’t be more friendly and helpful, the chap even brought as a bench he had recently made which was appreciated.
There is one shower, festival style but the owner have added a wooden changing room to it. So both us could easily get in and changed with the shower not wetting clothes liked the cramped ones, that’s a big plus too. There is dishwashing area in a hut too with local information.
We did not use the breakfast delivery system from the local café but it’s available again thinking rest day.
Highly recommend. Decent pubs with food.
