Site not fully open so not much to review

Pitched up in car park instead of grass pitches as still a little boggy

Only gent toilets working

Shower not in use

Still a work in progress but you can see that it will be a great little site when finished needs a lot of TLC in places

Cave Bar wasn't open so can't comment on it but again looks good when fully operational

Entrance a little lane so be careful misjudged it near bottom and caught rear end of caravan on stone wall

May go again later in year to hopefully see if any improvement been done

Can see this being a good site if things done right

Lovely little site which has a cabin for glamping however we stayed in our tent which suits us.

Not too expensive and easy to access as it’s not off the beaten track.

Has toilets and showers but the showers weren’t working in the shower block but we were able to use the shower in a flat which wasn’t occupied.

There is a cave bar on site but we chose to stay in the tent.

Plenty of electric hook ups.

The kids loved the rope swing over the river and the zip wire

My favourite camp site so far

This is a delightful CL. We booked by email, communication was very good as are the directions on the website. The approach lane is a tad cosy but our van is 7. 4 mtrs and we were fine, just took it slowly.

Check in at reception was easy & quick, the chap on the desk was very welcoming & friendly & we were provided with a map & told everything we needed to know.

We had the choice of a hard standing or a grass pitch by the riverside. We chose the latter because the ground was dry and the hardstandings looked very shady. The grass was short, cuttings gathered up and we managed to get a level spot.

The CL is separate to the main area which rapidly filled up with tents who were staying for the weekend. It did get full but everyone was respectful. The kids happily played in the river or on the zip wires etc during the day & then settled down in the evening to enjoy fire pits & bbqs with family at nighttime.

The toilets were clean when we used them, but there were queues during busy times. We didn’t visit the cave bar as were were content to sit on the riverside with a glass of wine watching the visiting wildlife, chickens, ducks, squirrels & bats.

There is not much in the village. We didn’t find the shop & the only pub was in the process of being demolished. What we did find was an easy off road walk all the way to Clumber Park. We drove to Sherwood Forest and also enjoyed a day out in Retford with a leisurely walk along the canal.

We stayed as a mature couple but I’m sure we’ll visit again with our granddaughter.

We have been to this site twice now.

It’s really good for children, they love playing in the shallow river.

The site has a family friendly atmosphere and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

Excellent site amongst the trees with a shallow river running through the middle. Pizzas delivered by a chef on a quad. A bar that's situated into the sandstone cliff face.

My only gripe was the mosquitoes but nothing a bit of repellent could sort out
