The location is good - not too far from Weymouth and roads to Dorchester etc.

The toilet / shower block is modern with plentiful hot water, although the water was inclined to be too hot, scalding in fact. We reported this and the manager was grateful although when we left 3 days later it was still the same. The 8 showers were not huge but they were individual cubicles each with asmall changing area, so again more than enough.

We were sited in what was designated as the dog walking field, which was fine - we had a better view and it was generally quieter than the main field. However it was further to walk to the facilities (loos/shower / washing up) - a small gate cut into the barbed wire fence at the corner of the field would have made that walk a lot shorter.

There seemed to be just one point for water (apart from the taps at the washing up / toilets etc) for filling up bottles / buckets etc and that was in the centre of the main field - one in our field wouldhave been good since it is now being used for camping (there are several ehu points in there)

It was great to have free ice pack freezing - a dedicated freezer (although that was broken down for 2 days ofour 5), and also be allowed to use the sockets for charging power packs etc free of charge.

There were plentiful ehu points but even more notices about not being allowed to charge cars from them (I understand why). However if they were metered points then that may have made that possible rather than having to find public chargers in the area - Tip for EV owners: Aldi a few miles away have public charging for just 25/kwh atm.

Date of Visit: July 2020 Unit:  Tent
Nights stayed: 7 Travelling as:  Mature couple

We stayed for 7 nights from the 4th of July.

The reception is in a horsebox on the entry road with a few provisions for sale, the resident couple were very helpful. They run a 1st come 1st choose system for the pitches.

Mostly the pitches are fairly level and they are quite roomy pitches too although at the moment I think the pitches are bigger than usual.

There are 2 shower and toilet blocks which are very nice and new and were cleaned twice a day. 8 showers in total and plenty of toilets and basins (with hand wash) for the size of the site. Covered washing up area with 4 sinks and washing up liquid and brushes provided. Quite a few water taps and grey water rinsing areas too as well as a waste area by the toilets.

Another horse box was added when we stayed to provide freezers for the use of all campers. Other improvements we were told are imminent.

Weymouth is approx 4. 4 miles away and very accessible for cyclists as most of the journey is on a designated cycle route.

All in all a very nice campsite a great week apart from our neighbours who were under the misconception that the designated QUIET time (10PM TILL 8AM) meant a SILENT time. The staff dealt with this very well.
