The Boat house is an amazing place to stay great views overlooking the river.
It’s a little Gem of a place with loads of acres so we weren’t on top of everyone & private…it’s quirky as there’s 3 large fields, loads of room for the dogs to have a run around.
The showers & toilets were spotless & free coffee & tea available in the seating area outside which is a lovely area…
Freda the owner was very attentive she couldn’t do enough for us.
We’re coming back in 5 weeks

Loved this site so much, ended up staying for three nights instead of one!
Run by the most lovely people I have met, it's a beautiful site on the riverside, which wonderful views of Rodneys Pillar in the distance (no sniggering at the back please)
There's a communal firepit with seating which is nice.
Facilities are on the side of the owner's house - there are two self contained shower and toilets - which were absolutely immaculate. The same building had a fridge, toaster, kettle, everything you might need. There was even butter in the fridge, and all sorts of tinned stuff in the cupboards for emergencies!
You can fish in the river, and launch kayaks directly from site. Whilst I was there a large group of D of E kids turned up and pitched their tents - they were excited but very well behaved. They loaded up their kayaks in the morning, and were off straight from site!
A big attraction for me is the brilliant walking in the area. Take an ordnance survey map and you can walk for miles. There's direct access to the riverside walk from the campsite - just walk over the bridge and the footpath is opposite.
If you walk down the lane towards the village, there is a pub which was friendly and did food. It's about a mile I'd guess.
Anyway, back to the site, as I said, the owners are without doubt the nicest people I have ever met in all my years of camping, caravanning etc. They simply could not do enough for me, and made my stay so enjoyable, it was like having a new family!

This site lived up to all our expectations. Lovely setting plenty of space and choice of where to pitch.
Unbelievable facilities tea coffee, milk etc use of fridge soup, toilet rolls the list goes on.
But most if all Freda was charming and most welcoming ensuring we had everything we needed.
Lovely night spent by 2 'older' women who had been cycle touring for 71 days in France and journeying to home in Nantwich.

Idyllic beside the Severn and a stunning stone bridge.
Good walks South-West always close to the snake-like Severn and peering at Rodney's Pillar high above.
Very good clean facilities.
Very friendly owners. Nearest grocer is just a mile away (which makes a change in remote Montgomeryshire!).
Perfect!

This very small site is superbly organized by its extremely friendly owners, Freda & Peter. It sits on the banks of the upper River Severn in a very picturesque spot. This probably makes it not very suitable for small children who like to roam a bit; and there is probably not much room for playing on the site when it is busy.
Wild swimming is to be had in the river, and the general views are lovely. The owners provide braziers & logs. The site facilities are small but kept in perfect condition. I've given it a high score for child-friendliness on the grounds that they would certainly be welcome!
Although just off a small country road, there is a lot of farm & quarry traffic during normal business hours: so, daytime is noisy, evening is tranquil. If perfect daytime quiet is what you want, then this is not the site for you!

Lovely site right on the bank of the river Severn. Nice walks locally, recommend the walk along the river, wild orchids in abundance.
A short walk to a nice pub serving food and a decent selection of ales. Garage and mini market a bit further on and some walks through the fields. Great hosts Peter and Freya, very sociable and helpful.
Showers and toilets excellent, very clean and practical.
Will definitely be back soon, a great weekend break at a gem of a site.

This has to be one of the best places I have stayed since touring the UK the past couple of years.
The welcome was lovely.
You feel like you are visiting family.
Freda and Pete are wonderful people who will chat over a cup of tea or leave you in peace if you prefer.
There is beautiful scenery and clean fields.
Electric hook up if required and if not then camp on the river side and sit at the home made camp fire with benches. Beautiful.
The facilities are great. Hot showers, toilets, fridge if needed, tea and coffee, toaster, kitchen area if needed, hot water for washing up.
If you need anything all you have to do is ask and Freda and Pete will go out of their way to help! You don't get that in most places !
Definitely value for money and not charging enough if you ask me!
Wonderful stay, wonderful people and will definitely visit again.

Without a doubt this is the friendliest site I have ever stayed on. Freda and Peter treat you more as honoured guests than paying customers. Directly on a quiet stretch of river, my friend had a a lovely time kayaking. Nice local pub, small and local with friendly staff and owners.
Campsite keep chickens and sell their eggs. Best of all is the little kitchen with tea making facilities, even a toaster. Only one shower and toilet, but the other is well on the way to being installed.
A lovely place I can’t wait to return to.
